Avery

Now I'm not one to go and blame the coach when things go wrong with the team, sometimes its the coach and sometimes its more than the coach. Avery is going on two years as coach of the Nets and he hasn't had the best of rosters to work with so i have given him the benefit of doubt. Last year was his first year and the whole Carmelo saga really took up half the year so again i let him slide. This year they lost Brook, had a grueling schedule, very little practice and a lot of new faces so again, i let him slide. As the year progressed I saw a lot of things I didn't like from him but again the injuries were mounting and the Nets played many games with only the minimum amount of players so again I let it slide.

This recent slide though has really pushed me over the edge. We have no business losing to NO, Cavs and Washington. We have good players on our roster. We have arguably one of the best PGs in the game, one of the best SF combos in the game with Wallace and Green, we have a decent and promsing SG combo in Brooks and Morrow and though our frontline is very thin, the Hustle and energy that Hump and Sheldon brings should be enough to beat below .500 teams. These last few games have to fall on the shoulders of the coach. It is just inexcusable now.

and don't get me started on how Avery is ruining Brooks. MarShon may not be the next Kobe but he has all the makeings of an future all star SG. Yes some of the blame for his regresion belongs on MarShons shoulders but i firmly believe that Avery is also very responsible for it. You can't sit the rook down every single time he makes a mistake because if you do, then he will lose confidence and become indecisve whenver he has the ball because he knows if he makes a mistake hes going to be immediatly benched.

This kid is easily the second best scorer on this team and yet Avery would rather run plays for Humphries. In 18 minutes last night the Rookie shot the ball 5 times...5 times! he scored twice and was fouled once. OH and he grabbed 5 rebounds. Don't you think he should have played more minutes? Instead Avery plays Ammo. who i love by the way but we all know what Ammo is. He is agreat shooter of the bench. you pass him the ball if hes open he will make the shot..but thats it, thats his whole game. at this point in the season shouldn't we be playing the rookie and seeing if hes as good as we think he is?

I could go on and talk about his tired offense Schemes or lack there off but we have all seen the games, we know how bad it is. Yes the roster is not the best, but they should be playing much better basketball.
