Playoffs? PLAYOFFS!!?????
I get the whole optimism thing, really I do. I always hope that we win all of our games, and regularly predict that we will. But realistically, does anyone really believe that we can make the playoffs this season? We filled out our roster this season with scrubs, one-dimensional players, and projects so that we could have cap space for Dwight. We get one good to very good player at the trade deadline and it's suddenly "win now"? 15-29 ain't an accident. Let's go over the roster:
1. Petro - total scrub
2. Sheldon Williams - scrub
3. Farmar - career back-up who we apparently couldn't give away in a trade
4. DWill - hurt but a total stud if healthy
5. Brook - hurt and only played five games this entire season
6. MarShon - skilled but young with questionable BBIQ
7. Wallace - good to very good player when healthy
8. Morrow - one dimensional
9. Hump - good to very good player
10. Green - athletic and skilled but questionable BBIQ
11. Jordan Williams - scrub (for now, anyway)
12. Stevenson - scrub
13. Gaines - scrub
14. James - hurt scrub
That's six scrubs, four limited players, two injuries, and two good to very good players. This roster would somehow need to climb over four teams to make the last playoff spot. Keep in mind that the Bucks just picked up Monta Ellis for injured guys, and they have real depth and Jennings, Ilyasova, and Gooden all playing lights out. The Knicks for all of their recent swoon have way more talent than we do. I hope I'm wrong. What do you think? Vote here.
