Hump: Basketball Is My Therapy
In his first in-depth interview since the end of his marriage to Kim Kardashian, Kris Humphries says that basketball has been his therapy to get by the marriage's ugly end, the recriminations and boos.
"Basketball is where you can just go and not think about anything and just let loose," Humphries told Access Hollywood. "I always tell people basketball is like my therapy. Some people talk to psychologists and stuff like that. I just need to go play basketball."
"Basketball," he added. "What do they say? ‘My girlfriend is Spalding.’"

hump is great, let's get steven jackson
i know this is off topic but i’m not sure where to discuss it.
but jack has played less than 10-minutes total in the last 5 games for the bucks. he’s in the doghouse for some reason and we know dwight wants him. given how we need a SF we should make it happen while the bucks are down on him.
read Kerber today...not happening

The Nets did not make Brooks available to talk to the media, saying his status will not be updated until Feb. 12.

If they were trying to hide him he wouldn't have played all year
They know how good he is, they could even check out his youtube page.
"We're not there yet, but we're going somewhere," Johnson said. "And we're going to Brooklyn. We're not going to contract. We're going to Brooklyn."

He speaks the truth. I spent many a nights, just me and basketball.
"LeBron puts up great numbers, can't close w/o DWade. LeBricked 3 late 3s when shouldve been driving, getting to line. What else new?"
Yet casual basketball fans think he is a God, and would exhaust their entire squads to land him...
Hump's been great
I remember when everyone was mad when he took his player option.

Now we know why...

Nice, Hump
Great to see that he seems to be fairly mentally sound and grounded enough not to be caught up in the divorce. He’s getting good legal counsel (going for the annulment, trying to televise the divorce trial), and sticking up for himself as much as his prenup allows. And he’s been invaluable on the court.
And if Spalding’s just not getting it done, he can always explore himself

Woah Woah Woah. Why wasn't this a thread the other day?
Alex Kennedy: "(Howard) will be on the Nets, it’s just a matter of how and when."
http://netsarescorching.com/2012/02/05/nastv-alex-kennedy-i-do-think-dwight-ends-up-on-the-nets/
When asked about the latest he’s heard in the Dwight Howard trade rumors:
"The Nets are the front-runners. I do think he ends up on the Nets, at some point. I’ve been told by people in Dwight’s life that he will be on the Nets, it’s just a matter of how and when."
On the draws of playing in Brooklyn, with Deron:
"Brooklyn’s part of the draw, he definitely wants to go to a large market." "Him and Deron are getting closer, which helps." He wants to create a legacy of his own without being a second fiddle… he wants help, but he wants to be the face of the franchise." "Deron has done a good job selling it: ‘you can be the face of the franchise.’ Deron realizes that Dwight is a top-3 player in the game."
On the reports that Dwight could waffle on his thought process:
"I’ve read those reports that say Dwight’s been changing his mind every day, and that he’s constantly waffling, but I honestly haven’t seen it. It seems like Dwight knows what he’s doing. "As far as right now, I think (Dwight’s) been pretty consistent." "It’s not like Dwight’s sitting here not knowing what he’s going to do. He knows that he doesn’t want to be in Orlando." "They’re saying he wants to be on the Nets, he wants to put on a Nets uniform."
On the possibility of Orlando holding on to Dwight until the off-season:
"If Orlando tries to hold onto Dwight and call his bluff in July, saying ‘we don’t think you’re going to leave $30 million on the table, go sign elsewhere if you want to,’ I’m hearing that Dwight would do that. He’s not afraid to leave $30 million on the table."
On the Lakers and their chances with Dwight:
"He (Dwight) and Kobe had a conversation and Kobe basically told him ‘you can come in here and be the third option behind me and Pau Gasol. You can be our Tyson Chandler and play defense and rebound." "Dwight’s interest in L.A. may have been a little bit overstated." "The Lakers could still emerge, however, July is a long time from now."
See:

I think it's fine.

Ah, that headline didn't capture me.
NAS’ was better: “(Howard) will be on the Nets, it’s just a matter of how and when.”
I had heard the “Kobe killed Dwight trade” phone call story a week or so ago.
by Anthony Perez on Feb 7, 2012 3:43 PM EST up reply actions
and we went beyond Kennedy
who had reported basically the same thing on HoopsWorld.
"It's as sweet as it ever was, I'll tell you. Now, hopefully, we started something and we can win some more championships, but we're going to enjoy this one right now. Have a little champagne." --Julius Erving, May 12, 1976, ABA champion Nets locker room.
Not banging on you or the research
The post was good, the headline just seemed outdated and I figured:
“Another 500 comments to dig through about a story I already heard about? looks at watch Maybe next time.”

We butchered this thread but in all seriousness Kris has been terrific this season. He has played hard and he really has no one up front with him. Deron has Brooks, Farmar and Morrow in the back court with him but Kris is virtually all alone up front. Kris has been great…
Marshon will be drafted again for allstar
The NBA has decided to try a new format for its All-Star weekend game featuring the league’s top young talent.
The Rising Stars Challenge will feature teams comprised of both rookies and sophomores. TNT analysts Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal will serve as the general managers and conduct a draft on Feb. 16 to determine each team.
The rookies faced the sophomores in previous years.
The pool of players for this year’s game on Feb. 24 in Orlando, Fla., will be announced on Wednesday. The head coaches will be the lead assistants from the All-Star game coaching staffs.
The NBA announced the details on Tuesday.
yea, he may not play in that though
who knows what’s even going on with him? all weve heard is broken toe and he’s been out forever

he's been out, what, six months so far?

Brooks update make sense
Nets play a game on Feb 11th then next one on Feb 15th. Brooks n B Lopez both will be back on Feb 15th against Memphis.
During these 4 days off Nets can do few nice practice sessions with the full squad.
is lopez even playing basketball yet?
february 15th is 8 days away.
thing change, though
i’m pretty sure lopez is more than 8 days away from playing in a game. if anything, he’s probably a week away from real practice.
Brrok Lopez ?...Man your right..and I always thought it was pronounced Brook.

OT but is it me or NBA review rules doesn't make sense whatsoever
for starters, how you review 2pt/3pt shot(1pt differential) but not review goaltending(2pt differential)? Shouldn’t you do it at least in the final 2 mins or so? NBA needs to have coach’s challenge. I’m sick of officials messing up games. And I’m even sicker of people who talks about “other 47.5min”. How the heck does that matter? That’s like saying “well this lady had a cancer so I shoot her in the face”.
Well guys I recorded last nights Nets - Bulls game...
I going home now to watch it backwards…
I hear it gets pretty close by the 1:00 minute mark.

I believe this kind of criticism of the Nets is
an outrageously negative attack on Nets Fans and their mothers and their DVR’s.
I believe a ban is in order or at least another self-imposed exile.
If it's true that the NETS are 'hiding' him from ORL
I can’t imagine this is the type of game they’d let him play in…
He’s liable to go for 50.

Kris Humphries fighting to have TV cameras broadcast his divorce trial
Sources tell us … Kris and his lawyer, Lee Hutton, want to “expose the M.O. of reality TV” by proving Kim had no intention of staying married to him, but just wanted big ratings for her reality show.
Now here’s the irony. The duo wants to prove their point by asking the judge to allow TMZ and TV stations to broadcast the trial — something that the judge might find a tad hypocritical … not that we’re complaining.
