Power Rankings - Back Down
The Nets two losses to the Knicks and Timberwolves dropped them a few places in this week's Power Rankings, down to the #22 - #26 range. Games where they might have had a chance if healthy turned into embarrassing losses.
As John Schuhmann writes, "The Nets' offense has been pretty good, scoring more than 104 points per 100 possessions, over their last nine games. But their defense has remained atrocious ... They let Nikola Pekovic (27 points on Friday) and Jeremy Lin (25 on Saturday) beat them over the weekend".
Marc Stein is a little kinder. "Going to take some pity on the Nets after a weekend of lost opportunities against the Wolves and Knicks and spotlight Anthony Morrow's entree Friday to an exclusive club," one with only five members this year. Morrow joined Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, LeBron James and Tony Parker in the 40-point club.

Rockets
are ranked 16th & 20th in NBC & ESPN lists relatively. By my ranks they are 9th in the conference… Just out of playoffs. Not sure how good they are, but they are making it interesting.
Imagine a team with Morrow, Dwight, LeBron, Kobe, and Tony Parker. Lol.
I might try to make this my team on 2k. lol
when did Tony drop 40+?

Over the werkend

What happened to all those comments last week about how we're better than Knicks? and should be higher in ranking?
Official Member of DO NOT TRADE MARSHON Society!
To be successful, apparently Avery's Defense System requires it to be manned by NBA All-Defensive Team.

Jordan Farmar has played well this year and deserves more credit than he's received.
I have nothing more to say about this team after Saturday. Nothing.
Oh pissing blimey there's jam coming out of the walls!
Trade him! Must trade talent!
I wonder if he would get more than $4.25M from another team this summer.

He could start for some teams in this league
he’s a tremendous backup PG..but I think trading him still might be the best course of action when you have an elite PG like DWill playing 40 min a night.
I don't think he's a good PG
he’s too ball dominant and doesn’t pass. he’s good for offense off the bench and even better when playing the 2 guard with Deron at the point, but we still struggle when Deron goes out.
good for Nets
in that he can hit the three, fill in. Might be more valuable to a team like the Nets than as a starter.

I agree
I’m not complaining about him, just stating how I view him as a player. as long as we play him in this role, he’s good to have, and he’s shown that the last week. But he doesn’t have enough court vision or passing skills to be a starting PG, and he’s not Derrick Rose so he can’t just make up for it in scoring.
on my way to the game
this is gonna be tough.for my nets. I’m also with 5 bull’s fans. brought my baby and he seems to be neutral.

i'm confused
i thought it was good strategy, especially considering how extremely undermanned we are, to prevent the other teams stars from beating us.
we contained rubio/love and melo/amare. when Pekovic and Lin beat you, i thought conventional wisdom would be that you tip your hat and move on.
am i wrong?
imagine something extremely witty here
Nope, your not.
I dont have a problem with scrubs beating us at all. As long as we do our job on the stars and let the lesser players beat us we are doing our job. We just dont have the players to play man on man and team defense.
Tonight will be a blowout imo just because we have to deal with their depth. We just cant contain everyone.
