Monster Games by D-Will, Hump Obscure Brooks' Return to Form
Lost in monstrous games by Deron Williams and Kris Humphries Monday was a return to form by MarShon Brooks.
Brooks had his best game since missing nine out of 10 games with a sore achilles and a broken toe, scoring 18 points on 7-for-15 shooting, including 2-for-5 from downtown. And with Jordan Farmar out, Brooks handled point guard duties for while, dishing out four assists.
Tuesday, the rookie was on ESPN 1050 talking about the game and his and the team's future. Asked about being included in a Howard trade, Brooks responded, "There's going to be a lot of rumors. I've got enough to worry about. I can't really worry about Dwight and Orlando."
As for whether Wednesday's game against the Magic is a big game, Brooks said, "Every game is a big game for us. This is our last season in Jersey and we don't want it to be a lost season." He also revealed his plans for the Rising Stars Challenge at All-Star Weekend, ""I'm going to go out there and play my game and try to score as many points as possible."

IF there is a trade to NJ
but I doubt it. The impossible is about to happen. DW will leave ORL as a FA.

a great boost to the team
if he continues to play this way, and the defense continues to play like they have the past few games, and hopefully have that same energy, Nets can string a few wins together to gain back some confidence

she's lucky
to be quite honest nothing happened to her in China. She was a sister of an NBA player, that’s the only reason nothing happened. Otherwise a number of things I can’t name on this forum without getting banned would happen to her and she’d disappear for life. This is China, not the USA. You do not go around doing things like that without disappearing either by the government or the local community.
In America when there are riots, the riots are in the hundreds.
In china, they happen everyday and are in the THOUSANDS, upwards of TENS of THOUSANDS.
Realize life seems a whole lot less important with 1 billion people living in the same space geographically as the US. Take everyone you know and multiply by 3. That’s China in a nutshell.
That is really ignorant.
What you said…
Nothing happened, but because nothing happened China is rioting and making people disappear.
Ham beast attacked a Chinese lady and you’re calling out China? In American she would have been arrested. But lets remember, China = bad. Because in fantasy land, we can make stuff up.
OK.
you misunderstood what I said
Albeit I wasn’t being very clear and more or less posted with emotion, i’ll give you that. Ignorant? I highly doubt that. I’m chinese and have lived in china for a number of years, my family is all from there. i do believe I have a right to say my opinion about chinese people in china and their reactions.
What I meant to reflect was reactions like that don’t go well in China at all. After that game where JR Smith’s sister choked that lady and pushed over a 70 year old man, the fans in the hundreds surrounded the bus and wouldn’t let them leave until an apology was given. this is what I mean by nothing happened,.
However in other cases in china where things like this have happened, people rioted. The bus would have normally been turned over and the government (local police) would have made sure the news didn’t get out along with the Great Fire Wall. Chinese Netizens would most likely have posted it eventually but that is what I was gearing to.
I’ve seen and read of riots based on something as simple as a choke and push and shove between Chinese and Muslims and various other smaller ethnic races in China resulting in riots in the thousands to tens of thousands.
It’s a common occurrence. This isn’t fantasy land and I’m not making anything up. You don’t do things like that in China. This isn’t the USA and I was trying to attack HAM Beast and not China.
I love hump
He’s our only tough player. He’s one of my favorite nets be because he doesn’t back down to anyone

Brooks is very professional for a rookie
It’s too bad they had to ask him about a possible trade and how he could be in it. It will be somewhat bittersweet in that regard if it goes down.

Lupica is a Knicks homer
these Knick homers in the media cannot STAND the idea of Howard and Williams in NY. Deron woke a lot of people up last night as to how great he is when he is inspired and on his game.
Dwight/Deron will destroy the Knicks, regardless of Lin’s popularity. Lin posted respectable numbers last night but he got embarrassed on his home floor. They know this, and they are shook. That’s why you had Craig Carton saying a bunch of nonsense this morning about Howard because he KNOWS.

“I will say this. Brian Scalabrini, and as you know Mike he knows everything about the league, came over to me when the Bulls were in New York and said, ‘You know, you New York media guys keep writing about Dwight Howard but everyone in the league knows he’s going to Brooklyn.’
I said, ‘Really?’
He said, ‘Yeah absolutely, believe me that’ll be a done deal.’
And I’ve talked to some people from the Magic and that is NOT a lie. He wants to play in Brooklyn with Deron Williams. And I think the whole thing with Brooklyn and Adidas and everything else that’s involved. I think how we all had this feeling that Carmelo would be in New York, we’re all getting this feeling that Dwight will be in Brooklyn."

The best of Ian Eagle last night...
“Petro is amped”- to describe Petro chucking up shots in beginning of game
End of 2nd Q
“Its just a matter of getting a good shot now. 9 to shoot. (Petro shoots from top of the key and hits the side of the backboard). “Not shot they wanted”
I’m Ballin’ for real you pump faking it
Manhattan keep on Faking it Brooklyn Keep on taking it! Yeah!
Ian gets it so much
by far one of the best announcers in the game. my favorite was when he swore off Lin puns from the tip-off. I think he realized how played out they were (it’s been 16 days, c’mon) and that they detract from discussing Lin objectively as an actual basketball player rather than a sideshow. good move by Ian.

the big unknown...
is Lopez rounding into form…and possibly getting Farmar and Okur back. If the Nets can beat the Bulls and Knicks without those guys…maybe there will be some surprises after the all-star break.
Best thing about Okur coming back is that we won’t have to watch Petro.
However, just as likely is that the Nets go 1-5.

As I mentioned in two seperate posts
Losing Marshon Brooks would HURT BADLY. He’s an animal. On an "off-night" (3 turnovers, some cold shooting in the 4th), he had 18 points and 5 assists very quietly.
Man…we have to do everything and anything (Bojan, picks, 3rd team) to keep him around.
In fact, I’d rather keep Marshon than Hump. Now, I LOVE Hump, but there are Humps around the league. Look at Illyosha and Pekovic. Marshon is a rarer talent, IMO.
Would sting to see him leave.

But there’s only one Hump

Great article by Ziller
http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2012/2/21/2813389/deron-williams-nets-knicks-hook
Highlights:
The point total is gaudy, but the victory is what says something given the drastic difference between the two clubs. Lin had Carmelo Anthony, Amare Stoudemire, Tyson Chandler and J.R. Smith around him. Williams had … uh … MarShon Brooks and Kris Humphries?
Deron Williams is still the best point guard in the New York market, and he’s still not going to get 10 percent of the attention that his new rival will. This is the life of a loser in the NBA: it’s one of instant anonymity.
