Morrow Will Honor Drazen at Three-Point Shootout
Anthony Morrow was just seven years old when Drazen Petrovic was killed in a car accident in 1993. But Petro's jersey was the first Morrow saw when he walked into the Nets' practice facility after signing with the team, and Morrow was inspired when watching the documentary "Once Brothers," about Petrovic and Vlade Divac.
So when he takes part in the Three-Point Shootout in Orlando on Saturday, Morrow will wear Petrovic's jersey. Petrovic was the last Net to participate in the competition, finishing fourth in 1992.
"I always said when I got in the three-point contest, I would wear his jersey," Morrow told reporters before Sunday's loss to the Bucks.

I love this so much
Even tho i wasnt even born when Petrovic died
"But Petro's jersey was the first Morrow saw"
Obviously you meant Petrovic, not Petro. But if he saw Johan Petro’s jersey first, he probably would’ve quit the team.
"Petro" was his nickname

If this is true how can someone with this as his actual name suck sooooo bad?
You would think he’d have some mojo wear off on him.
We are in another atmosphere. You're just in the Troposhere we in the Exospere. In other words the JETS are higher than you!

That's really inspiring by morrow.
This is really selfless and honorable for the Nets. I love this. This shows that morrow is proud to be a Net and doesn’t just care about his current tenure with the Nets, but Nets history. I really respect Morrow for this.

Go NETS pride
Hopefully whoever is calling the contest is respectful to my favorite gunner in NETS history.

Real great gesture by ammo
Drazen was one of my players growing up. Confident he’ll bring it home too

Beautiful story!
Morrow might be a little flawed as a player but he sounds like a great human being. Love the respect to Petro and the nod given to Nets history as well.
Opulence, I has it.
I would certainly approve of that
As much as I like Morrow, Derozan is exactly the kind of player we are missing.

Much respect to morrow for this gesture! Petro was a beast.
Hopefully Bojan can be 1/2 the player Petrovic was.

i was only 3 when Drazen passed but he will always be my most idolized Net
even Michael Jordan had to give Petro respect for his game

Petrovic
He is the reason I’m a net fan. I love Morrow for doing this. I will always root for you Anthony…always.
GO NETS!!
Still love this team

How sweet life would be, if I could be free, from the sinner in me.
wow great gesture, Morrow you are a great sportsman and person...
He’s definitely going to win Petrovic “helping” him.
2012 Lineup: D-Will - Brooks - AK47 - Lopez - D12... Book it!
I bought a Petro jersey the week before he died
He was one hell of a player. As for Morrow — class act. This is a selfless act that transcends basketball.

How did lopez look in tonights game?
by ballsohard2012 on Feb 19, 2012 11:26 PM EST via mobile reply actions
Rusty obviously
Outside of grabbing only 2 rebs, kinda what i expected. And he could have scored more points if he didnt start 1-7 at the line (!!!)
by netsfanrasmus on Feb 19, 2012 11:30 PM EST up reply actions
In a post game interview he admitted his head was spinning because of fast pace NBA game.
He looked very rusty and hesitant. There was no flow to his game, couldn’t hit a basket even from FT line and was even worse on D, but it’s so refreshing to see Brook back in the lineup. I hope from now on we’ll see more Brook and less (please, no at all!) Petro!

Funny Nets win one game and they think there world beaters and don't have to show up
But shout out to Morrow I expect a W.
"We're not there yet, but we're going somewhere," Johnson said. "And we're going to Brooklyn. We're not going to contract. We're going to Brooklyn."
Also it seems Lakers truly are out of the Dwight sweepstakes
There eyes are on a point guard and swingmen.
"We're not there yet, but we're going somewhere," Johnson said. "And we're going to Brooklyn. We're not going to contract. We're going to Brooklyn."
So what is everyone's thoughts on the "hope nets suck" comments from cuban?
Does he know something we don’t about the Dwight situation? He must feel uncomfortable about his chances if he is saying stuff like that.

More to do with the Deron situation if anything
But I think it’s more him trying to generate friction between the the loud, eccentric American billionaire and the mysterious Russian billionaire. He loves the attention and knows this is a story that the media may latch on to.

I think people are looking too far into it.
Every owner hopes that every team but his own sucks. He was basically saying that he wants us to be successful as a business, but he wants his team to be the best team in the NBA. Of course it will be overanalyzed because it’s coming from Cuban, but I don’t see how people could take this personally.
Well it is easier to read it differently when it comes from a man who previously called Prokhorov something that rhymes with wussy

after his death, almost the entire nets team and coaches came to my church (croatian church in nyc) to pay respect to him, a great gesture by the nets
^ Mark Cuban is hating already!!!

Awesome...
Petro is my favorite Net player of all time. It is so cool that Morrow will honor him in that competition.
Good Luck man. Hope you can win it.
I wonder if there's something nice we can do for Morrow in return?
A Nets fan deep in Knicks territory. SOS
Really? I understand the fustrations with the current team status on the floor but...
This is NOT the thread for comments as this. This is about Nets history being honored by a newcomer in this franchise at the three point all-star festivities. A class & selfless act by a new age Net. Ammo kudos on the move, I give the man props for this!!
