The Nets' "See-Through" Arena
In a new book, SHoP architects talk about what will be one of most striking aspects of Barclays Center, its see-through layout. "At the sidewalk level, the public concourse is predominantly glazed to ensure optimum visibility through to the arena's interior spaces," they write. In layman speak, that means you'll be able see inside the arena from the entrance or Atlantic and Flatbush avenues.
It's also becoming a key promotion tool for the arena. Bob Sanna, the Forest City Ratner executive in charge of construction, talks to both News12 and Engineering News Record, two divergent news media, about what you'll see in Brooklyn. "The building had to be transparent and activate the street—not just a big blank wall," Sanna says. You mean like the Garden, Bob?

solves every problem
My Big Fat Greek Wedding showed that.

People will be able to see empty seats and lopsided scores
if we don’t trade for a certain center that currently resides in Orlando.

We can't take any risks
we have to try and trade for him at any cost….if ORL chooses not to trade him then so be it.
Dwightmare scenario
What of traded all our assets for Dwight and we still lose because Avery demonstrates he still can’t win with Deron and Dwight.
Hmm … No assets, no stars … Starting to have my doubts.

you could win with D-Will and Dwight

I don't know
This team is showing a lot of holes. I’m sure Dwight’s big question to Deron will be “are you sure this team and coaching staff has what it takes to win?”

This current team, outside of Deron, is completely irrelevant
the goal would be to pair up Dwill and Howard, 2 superstars in the primes of their careers, and then build from there.
IF we are lucky enough to avoid Hedo Turkoglu, then we could sign a few more quality pieces AND still have the MLE to use in the future.
I’m on board with the plan.
Nets like Lopez, Humphries, Brooks and Morrow
but if there is a trade, two or three of those guys will be gone.
I would assume if there is a deal, someone else, like an Earl Clark, would be sent north as well. More likely it will be a multi-team deal with players added from other teams.
If Howard goes elsewhere, it will be time to start over with or without Williams. At that point, the roster will be uncertain, the front office will be uncertain and the staff will be uncertain.

Yeah
pretty much exactly my thoughts.
I feel like Morrow would be the most likely candidate to stick around out of those 4 if a deal for Howard were to happen.
That wouldn't be the greatest thing
Its cool to have Morrow but I hope the idea would not be to rebuild the magic team. Right now , the team as constructed would be just that. Bunch of shooters that can’t play D leaving Dwight to do it all.

If Howard goes elsewhere, it will be time to start overwith orwithout Williams.
I had to fix that for you. No way he stays here dealing with this franchise if they miss out.
Yormark can have fun trying to sell tickets in BK with Lin across town selling out on a nightly basis. What a joke!!!!

I'm not sure that is his big question
maybe you are, but I’m not sure of anything in this.

with those two, we're just a slasher/rim finisher away.
All the other guys we currently say suck will be good again when they play the roles they were brought here to do.
That arena is too beautiful to put a losing squad on the floor to open the arena!!!

Just in terms of architecture and sight lines,
no arena is as awful as MSG. Not even the Meadowlands Arena. I’m not saying that a Nets fan, I’m saying that as someone who ain’t blind.
Can’t believe that that big brown bass drum constantly gets talked up as one of the best venues in the NBA.
Opulence, I has it.
Brooklynites will make some of the best fans (if not the best) in the NBA
“Spread love, it’s the Brooklyn way” – They would know how to make a team feel welcome.
the Garden is, as of now, the greatest place to watch a basketball game
anywhere.
That’s not hype.
The exterior is awful, but that dropped ceiling and the black box look inside is great.

Golden State has a dropped ceiling and black box set up too.
They on any best venues list?
Opulence, I has it.
sorry you dont understand

I'm talking facts, you're talking hype.
There’s a reason that cylinder shaped buildings haven’t been designed for the NBA or NHL in 40+ years.
Opulence, I has it.
when people talk about the garden being great
are they ever talking about architecture? ever? i’m thinking no.

Turning Net fans into Knick fans
It’s pretty obvious. This team is peeing the bed

Maybe he's pissed off at this organization like everyone else
and is a little interested in the Knicks recent success? IDK, but I can’t blame him. Great game went to moiso fast last night.

amazing isn't it
Outside of 2007 they haven’t put a playoff team on the court in decades. Yet even a wednesday night game in the dead of winter sounds like a playoff game

Oakland fans are simply nuts
And fans from San Fran may be on something—not a bad duo to fill your stadium from a raucous/loud standpoint.
Unfortunately for them
they are winning just enough that Utah will receive their 2012 pick. It will be interesting to see how that organization can improve now that it has more stable ownership and management. That is a big market area (6th largest tv market) and they should be primed to take a major step forward as a franchise if they can field a winner.

The Garden is much better than Oracle Arena
Plus, you ever try to get to a Golden State game? The Garden is right in the middle of Manhattan!

I posted this in a different thread yesterday
but it is much more pertinent here. They have continued installation of facade panels on the sixth ave elevation. The panels now extend to the mouth of the delivery entrance.
