Nets Talk To Kids in NJ, BKLYN

The Nets will have the rare luxury of three days off this week (before embarking on another five games in six days). Monday, six of the Nets will be doing what has become commonplace nowadays: community events in both New Jersey and Brooklyn.

Anthony Morrow and Jordan Farmar will visit and sign autographs for patients at The Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center from 2:30 pm-3:30 pm.

As that event ends, Deron Williams, Kris Humphries, DeShawn Stevenson, and Mehmet Okur will lead a basketball clinic for more than 100 students at Brooklyn High School for Leadership and Community Service n the Clinton Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn. Nets employees will also offer a career counseling forum for the students.

Apparently he talked to an owner

They said Dwight to Nets is 100% guarantee. He didn’t give any details so it’s hard to believe. Since he’s well known on the board i want to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I just want to know what his profession is lol. Elone, what do you do? How are you getting on the inside?

I didn't talk to an owner

I talked to someone who works for the owner, who isn’t a Nets “fan” just like local area sports, and he has heard the owner directly say Dwight will be a Net 100%.

I think we’re all starved for information and hope. This didn’t strike me as that big of a deal,

Good move by Nets

It’s the kids 20 and under who will be the most important part of your fanbase moving forward. They may not have the money now to be season ticket holders, but they will in the near future. These kids probably aren’t set in their sports allegiances just yet which is a bonus for the Nets moving forward in Bklyn.

Pretty much...

they are not going to have a loyal fan base for awhile. Might as well try to get them while there young. Especially since NY is Knick country, and only a handful might cross over to root for the Nets…maybe.

NY is a front running town though, so if the Nets start winning, NY’ers will go to the games. Not true fans though, just front runners, especially if the Nets can get D-Howard.

-Jeremy Lin

by SovietBrooklyn on Feb 12, 2012 9:04 PM EST up reply actions

It's worse.

At least Tebow is arguably one of the greatest college football players of all time. Jeremy Lin is playing out of his mind and deserves praise for that, but he does not deserve this kind of praise, as usual these “experts” are getting caught up in the moment and let two weeks erase the work that these other point guards have done year after year.
