PTI Does Simplistic Take On Jay-Z

New Jersey Nets

If you go to PTI for trenchant (even incisive) analysis of the world of sports, don't expect much. Take Friday, when Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon discussed whether Jay-Z could make the Nets "cool".

Kornheiser: "I think you gotta win. I think you have to bring in good free agents. Nice if you have good champagne, Nice if you have good silverware, but you know basketball players can buy their own great champagne. Jay-Z's been around for a couple of years now and they will stink. Their best player has said he wants to leave (!!), Deron Williams."

Wilbon: "You have to appeal to players. Jay-Z is not signing players. he's got to appeal to sponsors and all sorts of high rollers. What you can do, Tony, is attract more owners, to pay the luxury tax and then bring in people and not care nearly enough." Mikhail Prokhorov needs money? Who knew?

It's honestly ridiculous

that this type of “analysis” is allowed to be put on TV.

Tony Kornheiser is babbling moron.

“Thanks to Jay-Z I rep Brooklyn with the Nets” – PackFM

Granted Pack isn’t particularly well known, but there is something to be said for that. The Jay-Z factor does play in for some people

Guy from Uni Watch regarding the new Nets unis...
Jay-Z has had a big role in the new Nets logo, color scheme, and uniforms, all of which are slated to be unveiled this spring. I’ve already seen prototypes of the uniforms (actual protos, not just mock-ups or photos), and I can say two things about them: (1) They’re almost certainly not what you’re expecting, and (2) I like them

Hoping for the best!

ESPN is bad altogether but...

PTI has to be the worst show on the network.

Sorry Tony and Mike...

But I will NOT pardon your interruption. Not this time.

This is why everyone hates the Nets, since most people get their info from ESPN.

Shows how much i watch ESPN...

I didn’t know PTI was Pardon The Interruption.

ESPN is a waste. The only headlines are for the “better” teams. A good Sports Programming Network would cover all sports with an unbiased perception. Everything about the Nets is negative.

They never look into detail about certain topics. Do they even know why D-Will said he will opt out?
