12/4/12. Thunder @ Nets. The lucky fan experience.

Long time from NJ, I have had nothing but great experiences when dealing with the Nets. For my 13th birthday back in 03 I got a seat upgrade and got to sit courtside near Jay-Z. __________________________________________________________________________________________ Fast forward to 5 days after my 22nd birthday, 12/4/12. Thunder @ Nets. I got tickets for section 31 (right at the main entrance) row 5. I drove to the Seacacus Junction train station, and took the train to NY Penn. I got a free subway ride to Atlantic Ave. __________________________________________________________________________________________ Not my first game at barclays, but I am still taken back from the sight of this marvel coming out of the subway station. I have only been able to sit in the upper bowl thus far, and the antipation to see the harrigbone up close was almost overwhelming. __________________________________________________________________________________________ A beautiful cup of Brooklyn Lager in hand, I found my seats. My friend and I were the only people there that early (about 70 min before tip off) and being only 5 rows back I was able to get some shout outs to some players and staff. __________________________________________________________________________________________ "STACK!" Jerry looked over and gave me a hand raise. "JOE! GET SOME!" A big smile and a thumbs up. "HUMP!" no answer "HUMMMMMP!!!" no answer "Its ok, Kris! She wasnt that hot anyway!" a few guys laughed. __________________________________________________________________________________________ While basking in the glory of being within a stones throw of my favorite team, I was approached by a Nets Game Night staff member, Stephanie. She asked me if I would like to be in a contest during the first time out. "Yup!" __________________________________________________________________________________________ Before tip off, Stephanie brough me onto the court to the other side for briefing. As I was walking on the court, the Nets were in their layup lines. "Blatche! You my boy!" Gave me a chest pound As DWill came by I gave him a nice and loud Avery voice " Geev Derun da Bawl !" and a collectice laughter broke out. __________________________________________________________________________________________ I was hanging out in the visiting teams tunnel, where I was able to talk with the Brooklyn Knight for about 15 minutes, along with Team Hype, the Brooklynettes, and a few of the Thunder as they trickled unto the court. I gave KD some dap. __________________________________________________________________________________________ The first timeout came and I went out there for the competition. Between "several" brews and the excitment I really wasnt even focused on the competition, I was just excitied to be able to take some shots on the hardwood! Made a couple from the elbow, and a couple from deep, shooting about 33% from deep haha. (sadly the highlight of my basketball carreer). __________________________________________________________________________________________ After returning to my seat I got to watch one heck of a game. Man, what a close one. After the game ESPN was outside filming and they asked my boy Zac and I to act excited for some promo they were doing. good times, good times.Shout out to the my boy Zac and thimo aka hoopskidd5 (the die hard nets fans) LETS GO NETS! BROOK-LYN!
