Tonight’s matchup between the Brooklyn Nets (4-2) and the Boston Celtics (5-3) at Barclays Center will prove to be a big test for the Nets. Their legitimacy has already been questioned after the drubbing they took against the Miami Heat. A win tonight will provide confidence for the team, and the Brooklyn fans. Celtics have proven time and again that their tough style of basketball will always put them in NBA title contention. Brooklyn’s path to becoming an elite team will need to start with wins against opponents of Boston’s caliber. The Nets are going for their fourth consecutive victory after beating Cleveland on Tuesday night at Barclays Center. However, the Nets have only won twice in their last 20 meetings against the Celtics. During the regular season last year, the Nets were swept by the Celtics by an average of 14.7 points. This season promises to be a different story. Besides an improved talent on the team, the Nets also have a home court advantage like they have never had before. So far this season, the fans at Barclays Center have proven to provide a great boost for the Nets. The raucous atmosphere caused by the combination of "Brooklyn" chants and the loud "boos" for the opponents is making Barclays Center a challenging arena for the away teams. Brooklyn has held a 20-point lead in each of its last three home games. Tonight any amount of lead will be difficult, and the fans need to play their role by showing up at Barclays Center in full force.
