MarShon Brooks likely vs. Celtics; Tyshawn Taylor in back-up role

We're not sure whether MarShon and Tyshawn will be playing together tonight vs. Boston at Barclays Center, but it's likely both will see big minutes when the Nets take on the Celtics in their nationally televised (TNT) game. In other backcourt new, Jerry Stackhouse is out.

If you've been waiting for the MarShon and Tyshawn Show, tonight's the night. MarShon Brooks is a game-time decision, but likely to make his Brooklyn Nets debut after sitting three games with a sore achilles. Tyshawn Taylor, who played his first game Tuesday in Boston, will likely see more minutes at Barclays Center with C.J. Watson taking a (well-deserved) rest.

Brooks will be the Nets sixth man while Taylor will spell Deron Williams. Meanwhile, Jerry Stackhouse will most the rest of pre-season with right knee tendinitis and hamstring issues. Stackhouse played Tuesday vs. Boston, scoring four points on 2-for-6 shooting in nine minutes. Stackhouse has said he sees this season as a transition between playing and coaching in the NBA.

Meanwhile, Courtney Lee spoke about the transformation of the Nets from the time he played for the 12-70 Nets of 2009-10. “I think they’ve improved a lot with the ownership, Jay-Z doing concerts here. I think they’ve done a complete 180,” Lee said Thursday. “I was in the Meadowlands and the Izod Center, and this is totally different.”
