I'm writing this to call on my fellow Nets fans to help start another new tradition for these new Nets. Let's make Barclays Center as passionate and hostile a home court as exists in the NBA or any professional sport. In 1985-86 the Boston Celtics posted a 40-1 record at home. That mark stands as the all-time mark for Home Wins. Our goal as a fan base, should be to will our team to the NBA's FIRST perfect home record in our inaugural season in Brooklyn. Those with contacts within the organization, send that message to the team and PA officials to drive the crowd and team to share this goal. As fans, we should do our part. On every possession, the Broooook-lyyynnnnn chant should ring out. Our teams opponents should feel as if their are 20,000 fans on top of them on every shot attempt. We should take note from the Cameron Crazies of Duke, and be a constant 6th man for our home team.
I know some don't like the Brooklyn chant...but I am all about it, because it's ours. We can come up with more, but don't stop the momentum. Let's will our team to 41-0 at home. Think of the psychological effect on other teams in the playoffs and in the late regular season if we're still perfect. This may be an ambitious desire. But, I believe we can will our team to great success and intimidate their competitors. Please make the expectation of Brooklyn Nets basketball events and expectation of an electric, passionate crowd. There is nowhere in the world with the kind of hometown pride of Brooklyn. Let's embody that pride, and wear it every game. We as fans can be a part of this teams success. We should make 41-0 our goal and ask the team to follow suit. I'm sure Avery, Deron and company will have no problem getting behind us. Every home game is game 7. Let's do our part!
