Brook and Robin Lopez working on their next careers

Brooklyn Nets/Adam Pantozzi

Brook Lopez and his brother Robin have a pretty good career going. They play in the NBA in cool cities, Brooklyn and New Orleans, and have guaranteed contracts totaling more than $70 million. But if this basketball thing doesn't work out, they have a back-up plan. Seriously, it's comic books.

The two are big fans of comics and even going back to Stanford, there were stories that the two were writing, writing, writing. Now, it's getting more serious, if a bit mysterious. "We have lots of finished ideas, we need to work on getting them published now," Brook Lopez. "We’ve been in a lot of meetings with a lot of different companies. It takes time, and in this off-season a lot was going on."

Brook refused to give Devin Kharpertian any details about the books — "Robin would bite my head off."
