OKC backup point guard Eric Maynor will be out for the remainder of the season after tearing a ligament in his right knee on Saturday against Houston. This is the first major injury to a contending team this season. It's the perfect time to trade one of our backup point guards preferably Jordan Farmar to clear some cap space, get a draft pick, and/or get a serviceable big man. Their are two options:
OKC receives: Farmar
NJ receives: a second round pick and/or Nazr Mohammed
With the first scenario we clear some cap space to help facilitate a trade for some big contracts. In addition, we would receive another pick. We could either use this pick in the draft (probably would be a low 2nd rounder) or use the pick in a trade. Nazr Mohammed would be a great replacement for Petro because lets be honest, Petro stinks! Another plus to getting Mohammed is that he is an expiring contract!
OKC receives: Farmar
NJ receives: Mohammed or Cole Aldrich
Like a stated before Mohammed is a serviceable back up big on an expiring contract. Cole Aldrich has two years left on his contract but he could be used in trade to Orlando because he does have upside.
OKC is getting the backup point guard they need in Farmar so they can compete with the Lakers and Mavs in the Western Conference. Farmar has championship experience and knows whats its like to play in the big games.
If we ever need to get a guard we can bring up JamesOn Curry from Springfield.
What do you guys think?

You could get more for him than just a 2nd rounder

you think so? I wouldnt give up a 1st for farmar but then again OKC doesnt really need their 1st pick
Farmar isn't worth a 1st.
You never know, it just takes one team to change that, but chances are you’re getting back an expiring, possibly a useful one and nothing more.
As meaningless as it is, you’re probably not even getting the 2nd rounder if the expiring you get for him is a solid player.

I'll never say never, but they can get a better rotation player in trade for that 1st or add it to a package.
Farmar just isn’t very good at the game of basketball on the NBA level, he’s not really worth a 1st.

To be honest I wouldn't give them Farmar unless they take Petro from us.
Dwight said today he doesn’t think he’ll be traded by the all-star game or trade deadline. He basically said this will be his last year and will become a FA. http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/218173/Howard_Could_Postpone_Free_Agency_For_2013
With that said, Mohammad and Aldrich aren’t really important, the only way this trade would actually benefit us is if we lose Petro. We get Aldrich or Mohammad (really don’t care who), they get Farmar who, as you said, is a very good backup PG with championship experience and can help them compete with the big boys of the West, and Petro to replace the big man they give us. A complimentary 2nd rounder wouldn’t hurt either, but I’m not one to be greedy when it comes to Air France departing from Newark.
they better take him if they want farmar
there will be plenty of teams who want farmar on their team, they better take petro too or else they don’t get farmar
Way overrating Farmar's value and ilk as a player.
He’s a dime a dozen NBA nobody, standard issue mediocre to average backup combo guard.
Hey, he might be a cool guy IRL, but in the NBA and on the court, guys like him are available for peanuts 8 times a year.
You’re much more likely to get a late 1st for Farmar then you are to be able to attach Petro to him.
That 1st is worth less then a Petro dump in combination with Farmar’s salary and simultaneously the opposite, in that Farmar could be a half season rental.

OKC drafted reggie jackson and were super high on him
he played well last night. they’re not gonna bail on that to bring in jordan farmar. next.
Why is it an assumption that with Maynor out, they need a backup PG. They have capable backups, plus they could move Harden to PG when Westbrook sits.

farmar has zero trade value
think about it… would you want us to trade for a backup pg with a 2 year/8 mill deal? of course you wouldn’t. and other nba teams wouldnt either.
I could see a Farmar to Memphis for Darrell Arthur deal.
They could use some depth and we can do a salary dump so there’s no question about his 2012 money.
More of a deadline, last resort deal.

Ok so um ND
if you have a trade idea, you want in the comments sections of THIS post? Is there a way to add it to the main post? And what happens when this post is gone?
I just thought those would be some questions ppl may ask, i never make trade scenarios.

Farmar for C.J. Miles
Call up our buddies in Salt Lake again and make it happen.
Miles is playing like relative crap and is beyond unneeded for Utah, if anything he gets in the way of their young guys getting minutes and developing.
They could use Farmar with Harris playing like junk even with Watson on the roster, he isn’t the answer and if it doesn’t work they haven’t lost much in the form of assets or salary cap space.
