Although Erik Spoelstra isn't saying LeBron James and Dwyane Wade will play Saturday night vs. the Nets, indications are that the two superstars will be on the court.
"The fact that they were out there and going through the majority of the shootaround, that's encouraging," Spoelstra said. "They went through the majority of it ... we'll have to see how the little work we did today, how that affects them in the next few hours."
James (sprained left ankle) and Wade (bruised left foot) missed the Heat's triple overtime win over the Hawks on Thursday night. No word yet on the availability of Mehmet Okur (back spasms) and MarShon Brooks (sprained ankle) for the Nets. Damion James, awaiting an MRI on his foot, is out.

honestly (and this is going to be ironic that I'm so pessimistic)
but there’s a lot riding on my nets fandom because once the giants’ season ends, whether it’s this saturday or in feb, everything is going to be riding on the nets. Because you know the mets aren’t doing jack this year.

spread always goes on the home team
because home team gets spotted a certain “home field turf advantage” that varies among each sport
when home team is plus they are underdogs, when minus they are favorites unless the margin falls into that home field advantage gap then it is even.
in this instance nets +9, if you take the nets to cover they must either beat the heat or lose by less than 9 points. the heat, being the favorite, must win by 10 or more to cover
if this was in miami the spread would be Miami -12 (or something like that for the home court advantage) so if you took the heat to cover they would have to win by at least 13 to cover and the nets would have to win or lose by less than 12 to cover if you take them

Old boxscore says DWill had 21 points and 14 assists that game. Millsap actually had three 3s in the last 28 secs of regulation — from the vid, all of them were wide open shots off assists by DWill after he drew the defense to him.
Millsap had an amazing game and much of it was through his own hard work but DWill also had a hand in a good number of plays too. The vid is 9+ minutes but also worth watching because of some sweet passes DWill had to Millsap. Parts of the video are also a reminder of what DWill can do if he’s playing with a big (even if undersized like Millsap) who can really finish.

21-14 is almost close to his average lol, and you would expect him to dominate the Heats great PG’s. And the Jazz were streaking then, playing with alot of momentum. They had a few big game which they came behind double digits I believe back then.

they are both horrific offensive players but at least Shelden plays hard nosed defense and can rebound…and shoot a respectable % from the line.

I hope James, Wade and Williams all play. The fans who are going to the game tonight are paying good money to see their Nets play against Lebron James and Dwayne Wade, not James Jones and Eddie House.
Although eLone apparently thinks the Nets were again AWFUL last night, I thought the offense was executing with far more precision than they had previously. Morrow and Stevenson were getting to their spots, following through on their jumpers and remaining confident that they would go down.
The key is going to be not falling behind early agianst Miami. There’s no way the Nets win this game but I’d like to see them fight with the same kind of determination they had against Toronto.
Not making this stuff up...

From a “VC fanatic”, I turned into a “Nets fanatic.” Never rooted for any other team since then, and I don’t think I ever will. I’m not the type who rides the bandwagon, like most of the people here. Sad to say that I could only watch the Nets through live stream on the internet, because local sports channels here only broadcast “playoff team vs playoff team” games. My friends (most of which are bandwagoneers) always tease me when the Nets lose, saying how horrible the team is. I can’t tease them back since they always root for the strong teams. So I just let them be, because I know our time will come. Like D-Will has said, there is a “Bigger Picture”. Until then, I’ll keep on supporting the team. Even if it means going through another 12-70 season or worse. Sooo Lezzzgooo Nets! Nets 4 Life! Beat the Heat tonight! Show those Bandwagoneers who’s boss!
