Nets Hire Aspiring "Capologist"
The Nets have been quietly adding 20-somethings to their front office in the last few weeks, the most recent being Matt Tellem, a recent graduate of Penn, to be "Basketball Information Coordinator", a new position.
Tellem is the Nets' researcher on contracts and CBA issues. The team's long-time "capologist" is Bobby Marks, the assistant GM. Tellem is the son of Arn Tellem, the NBA's biggest agent who counts Brook Lopez, Jordan Farmar and Shelden Williams among his clients

well, that's how he got the job. I was wondering why jobs like this aren't posted at the Nets website so others can apply

Nets building a young base
Tellem is just one of several young hires the last two years.
Matt Riccardi is Billy and Bobby’s assistant and coordinates scouting reports; Matt Reicher and Robby Hoenshel are assistant trainers under Matt Walsh and Hoenshel handles in-house rehab; Sean Sweeney is assistant video coordinator, having been hired from an assistant coaching job at Northern Iowa to work with Patrick Spurgin, hired from the Spurs; Mike Wenzel is the assistant strength and conditioning coach working with Jeremy Bettle, the new strength and conditioning coach who isn’t that old himself.
And in Springfield, they’ve hired Chris Carrawell, who played at Duke and worked with Coach K as the Armor assistant coach; and Matt Mahoney, who’s the Armor trainer.

These are the stories I love about the new set up with the Nets
Its shows to me we’re looking to the future and to build from the ground up. Obviously Howard and Williams are the major front of a successful franchise but it’s moves like this, slowly bringing in bright minds to improve the front office that I think speaks volumes.
With the Nets using Ipad’s as playbooks and embracing the future it will give us the best situation to be successful. I love our high tec approach and in depth look at what players wanted in the new home dressing room in Barclays centre.
Just good business sense that will hopefully pay dividends in the future for the Brooklyn Nets.

there's some smart moves being made behind the scenes.
Nets have nine scouts, eight assistants (including the two Armor coaches), three video coordinators, four trainers (including the Armor trainer), a team chef, a sports psychiatrist, etc.
