Bogdanovic - When He's On, He's On

B. Petrinovic - Crobasket

Bojan Bogdanovic has had some strange box scores this year for Fenerbahce, a testament to his inconsistency. Big games followed by bad games. But as his season wears on in Istanbul, he's starting to again show why the Nets traded for him on Draft Night, giving up $1.5 million and their 2013 second rounder for his rights.

In his latest Turkish League game, the 6'8" swingman scored 30 points in 33 minutes, shooting 10-for-13, including 4-for-6 from deep. He also grabbed seven boards and handed out three assists in Fenerbahce's 21-point win in Ankara, the Turkish capital. The Nets would like to see him in Brooklyn next season, but Fener would have to agree to a buyout.

Agreed.

It would be nice having BoBo able to fill in for any of our 5 injured starters…

I worry about this guy’s inconsistency, but i feel like good coaching and a more consistent league might benefit him greatly.

It really sucks to be fairly noncompetitive so early this year

but we’re going to have a lot of young talent next year going into Brooklyn or we’ll have Dwight and Deron. I for one can’t really complain at that scenario…

We’ll be competitive this year when Lopez gets back, but we might be in full tank mode by then. I definitely can’t wait for February to see Lopez/Deron/Marshon on the floor at once. Hopefully by then Morrow finds his shot coming off the bench.

Still haven't seen this guy play

But BK selected the dude so that makes me some-what confident

I feel bad that i forgotten about this guy already

Hope we can agree to a buyout, we need all the talent available to us especially with this team we’re watching now…

Bojan the next MarShon Brooks ?

I know it’s unfair to compare Bojan to the legendary MarShon “Swag” Brooks but I believe Bojan has the skills… and if he has Brooks desire who knows.

2011 might turn out to be the best draft class the Nets ever produced and that’s amazing seeing that they didn’t even have a top 20 pick…

P.S. I’m in Florida right now and the temperature is 30 freaking degrees. There’s frost on the ground…I feel I’m in Killington Vermont…(FMAO)

Some people don’t understand that 30 degrees temperature in Florida is like -20 degrees in NYC…Later it will be going up into the 60’s so the worst is hopefully over…
Wish I could say the same about the Nets…

People are freakin out down here

Stay in the house if it snows.

by DJ HeavyDuty on Jan 5, 2012 9:59 AM EST via Android app up reply actions

When you live here you get used to indoor temperatures of 80-82, and when the outdoor temperature drops you really feel it. Homes here aren’t built completely air-proof and may have single-pane glass. The benefit is that there’s no danger from radon gas, but it gets drafty when the temp drops. A bigger problem is that when there’s an extended cold spell like we had the last two winters, many tropical plants die. Last year I lost several foxtail palms.

People need to stop with this nonsense

I highly doubt we get dwight.

I dont WANT to get dwight, unless its through FA.

Nets fans (I included) have done this with melo, there is no point in wishing for something that probably wont happen.

Plus, if we DO get dwight through trade, we will be such a gutted team it isnt worth it.

by rotoreuter48 on Jan 5, 2012 11:48 AM EST up reply actions

I highly doubt we don't get Dwight at this point.

But I agree with you that we will have a much better team if we wait to get him via free agency.

Maybe Deron and Dwight are aware of this and are conspiring with Brook to form the next Heat.

One can only hope.

What makes you think we WONT get dwight at this point?

Im just curious.

And I feel like a terrible nets fan by saying this, but if we got dwight via FA, I would want to trade lopez for a very solid PF or SF (depending on our picks

I HIGHLY DOUBT we DON'T get Dwight at this point.

Antonym: I strongly believe we will get Dwight at this point.

Lol

Thats what I meant.

What makes you strongly believe we will? If anything recent events have made me thing more towards us NOT getting him.

by rotoreuter48 on Jan 5, 2012 9:28 PM EST up reply actions

Recent events make me think otherwise...

Other than the 6 game losing streak, Deron’s been preeching patience and believes great things are yet to come, Dwight hasn’t changed, at least publicly, his stance that Nets are his first choice and BK is quietly working on trade scenarios, not crippling our chances of landing Howard.

That’s not even mentioning the fact that Lakers have pretty much removed themselves from trade talks for Howard.

If there’s a trade by deadline it’s gotta be the Nets.

Lol! Nice one

The injury situation is depressing but w/ all the losses, I’m hopeful for a good draft pick next year. To keep or to trade… That remains to be seen though.

Boston already getting heat for trading Brooks to Nets ?

Doc Rivers before last nights game…

Title of article “Rivers downplays Brooks chatter”

“We didn’t really draft him,” said Rivers. “I don’t even know why they go through that charade. The deal was done before the pick. The Nets called us and told us to draft him. I don’t know why they ever do that stuff. I don’t know why.”

Good for Bojan

If he was here, he’d be fighting for minutes after not playing all summer and fall. It sounds like he’s getting a chance to develop, play a lot of minutes, and develop. This can only be good in the long run.

We need to build our superteam through Free Agency

That’s how the Heat and Celtics did it, and look at the results. Meanwhile, look at the Knicks and check out their results. Very mixed by comparison.

by Anthony Perez on Jan 5, 2012 11:53 AM EST reply actions

Celtics pretty much gutted their roster to get Allen and Garnett...

No one believed they would manage to win it all with Rondo, Perkins and Glen Davis at the time.

Knicks recent failure falls on the coach much more than the players, they will forever be a playoff contender failing to reach the ECF under D’Antony.

Nets will have two elite players at key positions, PG and C, both the best at their respective positions, and a defense type Coach, it’s just a matter of the other players stepping up to the challenge, much like Boston “scrubs” did 4 years ago.

2 or 3?

Is Boggy a 2, or a three?
I think we are set right now, at the 2, with MarShon and Morrow, and DWILL playing off the ball at times. We need a 3 who can score, as I believe we will know about DJames as a starting three in another month. Avery has certainly given DJames the playing time so far.
If Boggy is a three, then I want him for training camp next season.
