Bojan Bogdanovic - Still on Fire
Whatever shooting woes Nets pick Bojan Bogdanovic had earlier in the season, they're over.
Bogdanovic scored 27 points in an overtime win in the Turkish League Saturday, shooting 9-for-13 overall and 4-for-7 from deep for Fenerbahce. Of the 27, 19 came in the fourth quarter and overtime. Since January 1, in the Turkish League and Euroleague combined, he's averaged 20.0 points and shot 20-for-32, or 62.5%, from deep.
The 6'8" swingman also had three assists in the win over Trabzonspor. It was his combination of size, athleticism and skills that pushed Nets international scout Danko Cvjeticanin to recommend him, in spite of European commitments.
In pre-draft discussions, Cvjeticanin reportedly told Billy King that Bogdanovic is "a combination of (Peja) Stojakovic and (Carlos) Delfino." King sent $1.5 million and the Nets 2013 second rounder to Minnesota for Bogdanovic's rights.

We have some really decent chips here...
Keeping Bogs and Marshon would not be bad either along with possible picks this year.. I am watching Perry Jones III right now. If we make the playoffs we can possibly grab him mid first round.
RE-SIGN THE HUMP!!!
The JETS/NETS are coming!
Definitely
I think this guy has some trade value. While the prospect of having him next season is great, if we use him as a trade piece we wont miss him since he hasnt suited up with us yet.
omg just say no to perry
i don’t get whats so great about him
he wont either...not for the season.
but in his last five games, he’s had games of 30 and 27.

impossible esp if we got howard and kept lopez
"Next year, with a full training camp, I think he can go after that Scott Skiles' record of 30." - Billy King
wrong
the nets did not extend contract on lopez. and hump has one year only .they will both be free agents.there is a reason for that.
the nets could sign d howard to a max and then after thats done can go over the limit and
: re sign : there own players . there will be a a tax on it but i don t think that matters.
so it is possible to make it happened.

you sound like Frank Isola of the Daily News

Rubio was the #5 pick.
It’s not as shocking to say that a player picked as late as Bogdanovic might never amount to anything. But it’s way too soon to tell either way. Get him over here as soon as possible and let’s see what he’s got.
Rubio was deemed a bust by a LOT of people

You know better than anybody how reactionary media types are. Look how excited you are over a couple good games in Euroleague. The media similarly got down on Rubio for two seasons of pretty average play in Europe.
Look, and I will be respectful
I follow this closer than you ever have.
Media, reactionary? Please.
I am not “excited over a couple good games in Euroleague”. I FOLLOW THIS CLOSELY. I TALK TO PEOPLE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE and I resent your comments suggesting otherwise.

Hey Net Income...
First I wanted to say thanks for all you do. I haven’t posted on here much, but I read it often.
Don’t sweat it when others offer a difference of opinion. We’re all entitled to it.
You’re the moderator. You’re the one posting up news for the rest of us to form an opinion on. Then you sprinkle in a little commentary, because deep down, you’re a fan just like the rest of us.
I like the different point of views. I love being a Nets fan right now. So much excitement over a team that as soon as next year may win a championship. That as soon as this year, could compete in the playoffs. We’re only a few games out and just now coming together. When we get Brook back, and MarShon develops his D to match his O-face. We’re really looking nice at the right time. I’ll take a rocky start and a strong finish over the reverse 10 out of 10 times. It isn’t even the all-star break yet.
Now we get to debate as fans, whether we should trade for Dwight, or hold on to what we have. Who to draft? Who to sign? Who to trade? We all agree on Petro. We don’t all agree on Deron and Dwight.
That’s the beauty of loving this team right now! So thank you for your efforts and your input. Please, don’t lower yourself to taking offense of anyone else’s difference of opinion. Cursory or otherwise.
And lastly….Let’s Go NETS!!!
No he's not .... you know why ???
Cause he was not drafted by Thorn.
Drafting skills of BK and Thorn are in different planets!!!
Planinic was like made of PlayDoh!
Drejer was like a player that never played, exactly!!!
Aren't you giving Billy way too much credit?
I’m sure there is a solid scouting program in place which enables Billy king to make the best choice possible.
It’s not entirely Thorn’s fault he didn’t get good players, everything Nets was crap back in the Ratner days, I’m pretty sure the scouts were also.
for the right of watching tv broadcasted nets games...
You can argue that, but BK's draft record is pretty decent with Philly as well.
Thorn (aside from MJ) not so much ….
Who hired the scouts?
"It's as sweet as it ever was, I'll tell you. Now, hopefully, we started something and we can win some more championships, but we're going to enjoy this one right now. Have a little champagne." --Julius Erving, May 12, 1976, ABA champion Nets locker room.
Just saying it doesn't lie entirely on the GM...
there are other tangibles that seem to be disregarded.
Also, I believe King’s got more resources, money, than Thorn, consequently, he is able to hire more and better personnel.
for the right of watching tv broadcasted nets games...
WHAAAAAAAAAAT?

Good god
Any one else hoping that Prokhorov and King really did meet with Dwight earlier in the year
And painted out a nice picture w/ MarShon and Bogdanovic hitting on all cylinders, along with Deron and Brooks. Thats a very solid, strong, deep team possibly shaping up in the offseason.
At that point tho I'm sure D12 didn't even know who Marshon or Bogs was
Still doesn’t know who bogs is probably.

Billy is the worst GM ever and should be fired
Morrow is the next Outlaw

We could sure use this guy on our team these days. Is there anything we can do to get him over here sooner than later. Can he defend the 3? He certainly has the size. Billy King called me again this week, to come to Newark to play some three, but my mother is ill, and I need to stay close to her. So I declined the invite.

Hey NI...
How does it work salary cap wise if the Nets were to bring Bojan over in, say two years from now. Also, lets say they are over the cap be it from a trade or signing free agents i.e. Brook and Dwight.
Would the only way to sign him be to use the exceptions or give him the minimum? I guess I don’t quite get how it works when you own a players rights but haven’t signed him yet
"I don't care if you gotta FLY... You bettah have my doughNUTS!"
We own his rights
So it doesnt matter if we are over the cap. We can sign him no matter what because he was a draft pick of ours. I’m not exactly sure but there might even be a cap hold for him already. Don’t quote me on that though.
as a second round pick
he and the Nets can negotiate a contract outside the rookie scale.

aha- I solved it.. 3 way deal IF orlando doesnt want Lopez
To Nets:
Dwight Howard
omri casspi
to cleveland-
Brook lopez
shawne williams
to Orlando-
Nets 2012 # pick
rockets 2012 #1 pick
Cavs 2012 #1 pick
Okur
MarShon
Damion James (cap filler)
Nets 2016 #1 pick (protected)
why we do it: Get Howard, Cassipi would be a good rotation guy
why cleveland does it:
pg- kyrie
sg- gibson
sf-
pf- varejao
c- Lopez
is pretty good actually
why orlando does it: 4 #1 picks (including 1 lottery this year) and MarShon.. allows them flexibility in rebuild.. not tied to Lopez
pg- DWill/ Farmar (likely traded)/Gaines
sg- Morrow
sf- cassipi/Bogdonovic
pf- Humph
c- Howard
looking good..
in a 2nd deal..
To Nets- #2 pick from Phoenix (shed Farmar’s salary)
to Cleveland- Robin Lopez (incentive for Brook to stay)
to Phoenix- Farmar (need a backup for Nash)
I think my 3 way is great.. not sure if the Cavs do it.. but maybe they do… They would have a good pick this year.. one could argue though that Lopez is worth it…. he would fill out their roster and make them playoff contenders
I dont think the Suns love Robin so I think they could trade him… Reuniting him with Brook makes too much sense.. would make them both happier..
Screw orlando.
If they want Marson, they don’t get our 2012.

I'm not being a complete homer either
But lessons have to be learned from how the Giants handled the Eli deal a few years back:
Smith, the Chargers’ rookie GM at the time, asked then-Giants GM Accorsi for unknown second-year pass-rusher Umenyiora in the week before the draft.
No, Accorsi said; I don’t trade young pass-rushers. San Diego had the first pick in the draft, and Manning said he didn’t want to play for San Diego, but the Chargers picked him anyway — and everyone in football knew they wanted North Carolina State quarterback Philip Rivers instead; the Manning pick was going to force the Giants to deal a ransom for him because Accorsi loved Manning and Smith knew it. So with the Giants on the clock, Smith called again.
"He brought up Umenyiora again,‘’ Accorsi told me last night, "and I said no. We were not giving him up. There was no way.’’
So now the trade teetered. If Smith had insisted on Umenyiora and killed the deal, Accorsi had an ace up his sleeve: He could trade down three spots and pick up a second-round pick from Cleveland … and still draft the Giants’ No. 2 quarterback on the board, Ben Roethlisberger from Miami of Ohio. The Giants liked Manning much more, but Accorsi wouldn’t budge on Umenyiora. Accorsi offered the Giants’ first- and third-round picks in ‘04, and an ’05 first-rounder. "We still want Osi,’’ Smith told him.
Tick, tick, tick …
Two minutes left.
Accorsi’s last, best offer.
"No Osi,‘’ he said. "That’s still a deal-breaker. But we’ll throw in a six next year.’’
Pause on the line from San Diego.
Tick, tick, tick …
“Make it a four,’’ Smith said.
"I’ll give you a five,’’ Accorsi said.
Done.

yeah that's best case scenario.. problem is Chargers had no alternatives... Magic do
and we have much more incentive to get Dwight than Giants did to get Eli (as that article mentions, they would have been OK taking Big Ben).. we have no great alternative if Dwight is traded elsewhere
we dont know what offers are floated.. I think we will be forced to give up Lopez, the pick, and MarShon and King will it
We don't know if the Magic have alternatives
There’s a lot of smoke and mirrors going on.

and magic can say.. Ok. we'll go into the offseason and take our chances. good luck Nets
there were rumors Atlanta wanted to get him even if there was a chance they couldnt keep him
the Lakers could relent and trade Bynum and the Mavs’ pick.. and then take back a bad contract or 2 from ORL with the Odom trade exception.
You don’t think Lakers fans are saying: the Nets? No way, unless they trade Lopez, Brooks, and the pick.
Everyone here is missing the fact that Lopez’s trade value is less because:
1) will be fresh off his injury
2) As a RFA.. the Magic may be forced to match a big contract right away.. something they may not want…
our offer before the season (which we agreed to) was Lopez and 5 picks. Why would Orlando suddenly take Lopez and Bojan
I think I am more realistic.
ATL? They couldn’t sell out that arena with 3 allstars why would Dwight want to go there?
Dallas? HA yea right
Orl would want more than Bynum and a late 1st and Dwight doesn’t want to play next to TMurphy and JMcroberts. Don’t forget the old PG they have
Trading a superstar is very rare the Melo deal was rediculous and Orlando will get nothing like that because Dwight doesn’t want to play on a gutted team. Plus Orlando doesn’t want to be the Lakers farm team. No other team can offer young players and or good pick
Orlando is running out of options
by DJ HeavyDuty on Jan 28, 2012 6:55 PM EST up reply actions
huh? Dwight said nothing has changed. That means the Lakers are STILL on his list
so saying he doesnt want to play with McRoberts is not accurate. Apparently he still does
Orlando had the SAME options before the season and was able to make us pony up 5 #1s and Lopez. Now that they can get Brooks.. of course they will want him and we will trade him
Look at recent history.. we offered a ton for Melo.. and for Howard already. Of course we will do it again
I never said Dwight wanted to go there. I said there were rumors Atlanta was considering trying to TRADE for him even if there was a chance they couldnt keep him
I agree Dallas is not a viable trading partner.
ideally sure.. things arent always ideal though.. Magic still have more power than us
I think we still are slightly fearful of going to free agency without Dwight.. that carries some risk we could lose on Dwight.. or Deron could bolt.. not saying it would be likely.. but possible (anything can happen)
Also.. need to amend my 2nd trade:

they're so delusional it's not even funny
“why don’t we hear about us acquiring we don’t have the pieces to get?” sounds completely logical.
Does portland ever do this?
LMA for Lopez, Morrow , Nets #1 pick, Rockets #1 pick
Then we sign Batum in the offseason. He is a RFA and his agent is apparently furious with the Blazers.
We would go into Brooklyn with a lineup of:
Dwill
Marshon
Batum
LMA
Howard
I like Lamarcus Aldrige but thats way to much
"We're not there yet, but we're going somewhere," Johnson said. "And we're going to Brooklyn. We're not going to contract. We're going to Brooklyn."
If that's the case, then slide Batum into the deal to ensure we get him.
LMA is an absolute beast. He would work great by Howard. Batum is a solid player as well.
That lineup would be second to none.
Any ideas how the Nets can obtain suspected terrorist Chris Kaman? I think he’d be an upgrade over Okur.
Stern would ask for to much he's looking for basically what he got for Chris Paul which is crazy
