Deron Williams for Amare Stoudemire
Have you seen Deron Williams’ body language this season? Disinterested doesn’t begin to describe it- the man should be on suicide watch.
After Mikhail Prokhorov took the Williams gamble last year (giving up Derrick Favors and two first round picks in the process), the hope was Williams would re-sign this summer and be the face of the franchise for the big move (finally) to Brooklyn.
Instead, it’s basically turned into Howard-or-bust for the Nets. If they somehow manage to lure Howard, then they become a top-3 team in the East. If they don’t, then Williams heads to Dallas and the Nets continue living in the lottery (without picks!), albeit with a trendier address.
We know the big Russian likes to gamble, but you really think he feels confident with the odds? He shouldn’t. By flipping Williams for Amar’e, the Nets have their star (for at least three more years after this one) and the Knicks get a top-5 point guard who could make them their offense look functional.
Williams-Melo-Chandler. Wouldn’t you rather have that as your core?

Who do I punch for this idea?
Obviously it makes all the sense in the world for the Knicks but none for us. We know the media is only interested in getting every superstar in the league in a Knicks uniform but let’s be honest. BK is not trading Deron there in a million years.
Additionally, who would possibly want Amare’s crippling contract along with his crippled (and uninsurable) legs? If we lose out on Dwight and Dwill I don’t want an overpaid aging star just to light up the marquis. Let’s use our picks and develop our young guys.
I think in past years we may have overvalued our young assets but we know what we have with Lopez and Brooks. That’s enough to build on along with our upcoming pick.

uh can we ban you for a few days for making an entire fanshot for something this ludicrous?
it will be like a timeout haha
We are in another atmosphere. You're just in the Troposhere we in the Exospere. In other words the JETS are higher than you!

How about Deron for Toney Douglas?
That actually makes more sense
Were they saying "Boo" or "Boo-urns?"

I wouldn't trade Deron for Melo, Shumpert, and Fields lol
We still have a great shot at Dwight Howard and Deron has been in beast mode in recent games. If he can go for 34 pts and 11 assists with a game winner, and 27 points and 10 assists with “disinterested, bad body language”, I’d love to see him with good “body language.” Yeah, he’s definitely on suicide watch. The way he has been smiling on the court recently, giving chest bumps to teammates, and making up a “I love it!” motto in the locker room. That definitely seems like a disinterested player…

Terrible just terrible
knicks fans are complaining how amare isn’t showing up in recent games, aka hes playing terrible.
now why on earth would billy trade for him??
Why would New Jersey ever trade with the Knicks?
Or Williams to anyone in the eastern conference for that matter?

This is something Pooping and Scooping would come up with. An elite point guard is far more valuable to a team than a PF who has fragile knees. This would be a horrible deal for the Nets and i don’t even think they would consider it
knees
Amare has no more cartilage in his knees, his uninsurable kneees. So last year was his last for whatever jumping ability he has.
Terrible trade
Amare is totally overrated even when he is healthy. But anyway
Deron will “90%” stay with the NEts. Yes, this season will be brutal for him, but it’s not really about this year, it’s about the next 5. Even without Dwight, the Nets will go into this offseason with the ability to offer Deron a max contract and make a max offer to a FA all while keeping Lopez, Brooks, Ammo, and a lottery pick in a stacked draft.
Any smart player will take that young team with loads of potential and flexibility over a group of aging has-beens on the Mavs who have declining stats across the board
True That
There is no reason to panic if we don’t get D12 before the TD. I think we would be better off holding on to what we have and rolling the dice for D12 in free agency. Even if we don’t get him, this team is well position for the long haul. A mid-season trade is going to cost a lot.
my 3 month old bro can write a post better than this
and guess what? He cant hold a pen!
