because if we dont get D12 and even if we do there is a chance we might want to keep Brook around
and even though he is a restricted free agent, it would still be better to not have a guy angry at his organization when you need him to be productive

Not only that...
…we want him to come back from his injury to play his heart out, whether its to trade him for Dwight or just for the team to do good in general.
Don’t want to piss him off and have him come back and stink.
If we resign him and have DWill, D12 and MarShon
There is no way he is angry at the organization if he gets the same money he was gonna get if he was extended. He’ll be fine

I agree. He is too important to find out like this
This may be D-Will’s team but they should do better treating other important pieces better.
RE-SIGN THE HUMP!!!
The JETS/NETS are coming!
Did they really not even talk to Lopez?
Thats disrespectful
Nets Mets Giants All day Every day.
Beware the Lopez
NY Giants Tribute
Seems kind of sensitive to me
He should have known he wasn’t gonna get extended until Free agency or not at all if we get dwight. He must have his head up his AZZ if he doesn’t realize what’s going on around him.
It's called unprofessional and unappreciative.
He owes Brook no contract, but he should owe him some respect.

I mean…didn’t Billy hint early in the season (after Brook’s injury) that he wouldn’t be extended? I’m fairly certain he said it probably wouldn’t happen, so it’s not as if this is out of the blue.
Plus, I’m not sure “disappointed” is strong enough language to worry too much. What’s he supposed to say? “Net’s didn’t extend me! Awesome!” Even an “I don’t blame them” would be too much to hope for.

A lack of class
Throughout all this Dwight Howard talk, it seems like the Nets have done a terrible job managing the relationship with Lopez. It seems to me that they should’ve sat down with him and his agent and said “We love you and want to keep you. There’s only one guy on the planet we’d trade you for and if that upsets you, sorry. But we’re going to do what we can to keep you and we’re going to do all that we can to build a championship team.” It certainly seems like that conversation has never been had. And let’s keep in mind – as evidenced by this year’s record: if the Nets do not get Howard, they DESPERATELY need to hold on to Brook. The Nets need a happy Brook Lopez.
One thing is for sure...
The Nets are risking losing Lopez in their attempt to get Howard, if it fails Billy King may have to face a Vince like situation in Toronto.
It’s just business but Lopez deserves much better.
for the right of watching tv broadcasted nets games...
Nets maneuver for Howard
Suppose the Nets didn’t trade for Howard inspite Orlando offering to trade him. Then Howard becomes a free agent. The Nets then tell Howard we all have money you want when you become a free-agent. They also tell him the Nets has all the money to sign Dwill, Brook Lopez and him. I wonder if that will be a risky maneuver.
