Okur: Still Learning About Nets
In an interview with SLAM, Mehmet Okur says the short notice he had between his trade and opening day --basically two days and one hour of practice-- is still affecting his game.
"I feel a lot better than the first time I got here," said Okur. "So I’m still learning about the system, players, city, off the floor. I’m gonna be OK".
Okur also spoke about the dinner he shared with Deron Williams and the GM of Besiktas in San Diego where he and Williams have homes in the same neighborhood and what he told Williams to expect.

he's gonna be ok, alright.
chucking up threes thinking he’s Anthony morrow, not defending well, soon to be a backup to brook making a cool 10 mil this season. yeah, he’ll be just fine.
once brook is back and okur can take a backup role
i think we will start to appreciate okur a lot more, his ability to hit long shots and keep the the opposing center out of the paint when we are on offense will be a great asset to a backup unit
step it up man!

"A little boy went out to play. When he opened his door, he saw the world. As he passed through the doorway, he caused a reflection. Evil was born. Evil was born, and followed the boy."
Dude is good for a backup to stretch the floor.
After this season, he’ll sign a more realistic contract and play about 18-20 a game. He’ll serve his purpose. He’s clearly an offensive weapon, not for defense.
A guy like that is valuable on a well built squad.
