Perimeter defense has to step up at this point.

It’s been atrocious all season. We aren’t event contesting shots.

I think it's fine.

i'm not sure...

if Nets are definitely trading Dwight at deadline than OK…but if Magic keep winning, maybe Dwight comes…summer ’12.

by BKNfastbreak on Jan 23, 2012 9:18 PM EST up reply actions

Magic losing is not good.

The better they play, the less chance they trade Dwight. And if he makes it to free agency, the Lakers wont have the money to sign him. But they DO have the pieces to trade for him.

by cody1234 on Jan 23, 2012 9:18 PM EST up reply actions

I have a theory

that DWill got a magic remote control like in Click, & fast forwarded to when the Nets get Dwight Howard, and the play we’ve been seeing from him this season is him being on “auto-pilot” during the games he fast-forwarded through.

no one is taking Shawne either...

and I think the Nets want to keep Morrow unless it’s for a SF that will be around next season. Morrow has potential to a lethal weapon with Lopez or Dwight down low. That leaves Farmar and future pick.

Paid a visit earlier to the Bulls blog. First time I visited a blog of another team and I'd say that I'm pretty upset.

Saw some talking about how bad we are, that we are garbage, etc, etc… Even if we had the best record in the league, I think we wouldn’t badmouth other teams even if we’re blowing them out by 50.

Part of that is because

Tied for 5th fewest in the shot clock era. Boston played without Allen and Rondo.

I'm not convinced, Avery must go...

I don’t post often, but I am an avid Nets fan and watch just about every game. After watching the game against the Bulls I am absolutely convinced Avery has cost us SEVERAL games. He pretty much just conceded this game with his substitutions (i.e. Larry Owens for more than 25 minutes!)

I don’t care that this the 3rd game of a back to back to back, there is absolutely no excuse for the way he is coaching this game. It sends a terrible message to the team and contribues to a losing mentality.

Fire Avery now!

The Nets don’t have any options. The roster is putrid.

by NetsKiNG on Jan 23, 2012 10:07 PM EST up reply actions

He has much better options then a guy just brough up from the D-league

Its the job of the coach to set the tone…and his tone by bringing in Larry Owens with 7 minutes i the 1st quarter (what?!?) is that the Nets can’t compete so don’t even try

by NYScratches on Jan 23, 2012 10:08 PM EST up reply actions

Like Gaines, Petro, Popeye Jones, etc.

I guess the first line of that article doesn't matter to you?

You know, the one about Deron wanting to stay with the Nets as his #1 choice?

How about Dwight’s #1 choice being the Nets? Reported by everyone.

How about the fact that WHEREVER Dwight gets traded he will become a free agent.

The Nets believe, and probably based on some pretty decent information, that they will get Dwight yet people like you want to categorize it as a PIPE DREAM.

HILARIOUS.

by NetsKiNG on Jan 23, 2012 10:48 PM EST up reply actions

yea i'm sure dwight is chomping at the bit to jump onto this 5-13 squad

things change, dwight wanted to come here at the beginning of the season. now they’re stinking up arenas across america and the frog is disgruntled. i wish i could view the world through rose tinted glasses like you guys but dwight is a pipe dream. not like i’m alone in this thinking either. even steven A who was the nets biggest supporter in the beginning of the season is guaranteeing the nets lose deron and don’t get dwight. playing this bad changes everything.

by William_H_HOLLA on Jan 23, 2012 10:53 PM EST up reply actions

So wouldn’t he know that he could come here and turn this team around?!

by JimmyLips on Jan 23, 2012 10:54 PM EST up reply actions

So your argument is that because the Nets stink he won't come.

Ahh yes, just like how the Heat sucked but that didn’t stop LeBron and Bosh right?

Tell me, has anything changed with Dwight’s trade request? Has his desired teams been rumored to change at all? Nope.

I won’t be able to convince you otherwise..I just find it hysterical that you call it a pipe dream based on a bunch of fluff.

by NetsKiNG on Jan 23, 2012 10:56 PM EST up reply actions

i guess show me another example of a superstar forcing his way off a playoff team

onto one of the worst teams in the league. things have been quiet with dwight recently because ORL isn’t even fielding offers until after the ASG. if you just get your NBA news from reading puff pieces on netsdaily about how the arena is gonna attract free agents and lure mike jordan out of retirement i guess you would think like you do. the heat weren’t this terrible last year, and they had 3 stars commit to them. completely different. deron is no dwayne wade either.

That has nothing on today's.

Not like that other play kept him relevent in the NBA or anything

by Nick Tortoise on Jan 23, 2012 10:29 PM EST up reply actions

Also just realized

The Jazz roster from that year pretty much split between the bulls and nets lmao

by Nick Tortoise on Jan 23, 2012 10:31 PM EST up reply actions

As much as I would have loved a win...

A 15 point loss to arguably the best team in the NBA, on their court, without Brooks and Lopez, and on the 3rd game of a back to back to back isn’t all that bad.

by TheOnlyNetsFaninMD on Jan 23, 2012 10:29 PM EST reply actions

Well Dwight definitely isn’t staying in Orlando after that debacle. Hell, without D WIll and Brook the Nets still found away to break 56 vs the Celtics.

by JimmyLips on Jan 23, 2012 10:31 PM EST reply actions

Well, the Magic were playing great, having in mind for all they are going through...

but that loss comes, after the press asked if Nelson poor play this year, had something about Howard wanting to play with another PGs…. that may have made some noise in Magic locker room

2012 Lineup: D-Will - Brooks - AK47 - Lopez - D12... Book it!

by Heavinsent on Jan 23, 2012 10:52 PM EST up reply actions

I think that this team is really Tanking , I do.....

They didn’t play Brooks b/c they thought that we would win with him…..

by NetFan48 on Jan 23, 2012 10:31 PM EST reply actions

that makes zero sense.

Magic: 16 for 65 (24.6%)

Damn…..18 for Dwight, but nobody else (!) with more than 7. What happened there, yikes.

I think houston has a legitimate shot at making the playoffs

I expect utah to decline so houston can fight it out with them, portland, dallas (maybe)
two spots for those four teams

Sounds like Eric Gordon has agreement with Hornets on a contract extension, awaiting approval from David Stern dlvr.it/16t29s

if it wasn't for his knee

he’s be gone. he knew he’d get his $ in NO.

I love the Nets...too bad they don't love me...

by BEB on Jan 23, 2012 11:14 PM EST up reply actions

Why would he be gone?

He’s a restricted free agent next year and the Hornets are going to match offers for him. They’d be crazy not to, especially because at the end of this season they are going to have a chance to pair him with two lottery picks to form a killer nucleus.

Eric Gordon/12th pick/Anthony Davis? Would be a pretty epic team in a few years
