Seriously thought it was a winnable game

if Rose & Noah were out…and MarShon was playing…can’t catch a break.

Sucks

andy_vasquez: MarShon Brooks is out with a sore left Achilles, according to the Nets.

"We're not there yet, but we're going somewhere," Johnson said. "And we're going to Brooklyn. We're not going to contract. We're going to Brooklyn."

by Atronic on Jan 23, 2012 7:30 PM EST reply actions

I was trying to be optimistic about this one...

But without MarShon I don’t see how we do it.

Hope they’ll prove me wrong.

You can't say its a little thing tho

We have the whole season to go we don’t know how severe it is, its a weird season scheduling wise he’s never play so many games together like this.

No Brooks = no hope. Deron better step up big

by SovietBrooklyn on Jan 23, 2012 7:46 PM EST via mobile reply actions

Deron needs to score 40

15+ point nights from hump, okur, morrow, farmar.
10+ gaines and stevenson
and we can win.

All this is considering our terrible defense because i do thing the bulls will score 110.

Doesnt seem likely since they play defense and we dont though…

by YOUNG NET on Jan 23, 2012 7:46 PM EST reply actions

OT

But Stephen A just went on 1050 and completely destroyed any ideas of Knicks fans that Amare/Chandler could be traded for DH12, saying he called the Magic and they shot it down, Tyson can’t be traded, etc. Also, I’m not sure if I heard correctly, but I think he said Howard’s people have told Otis he can look for a trade to LAL, DAL, NJ, and now NYK and LAC. Can someone else confirm what I heard, online or something?

by Tylerguy42 on Jan 23, 2012 7:48 PM EST via mobile reply actions

Huh? Wasn’t Stephen A the one who started that rumor to begin with?

by Accelerate on Jan 23, 2012 7:48 PM EST up reply actions

Stephen A Smith

Shooting down his own rumors since 2007

I think it's fine.

by NetsMets4Life on Jan 23, 2012 7:52 PM EST up reply actions

I think its more of Stephen A meant that Otis is just looking at offers, inquiring around

And the NYC media took it as Otis made the offer, getting fans excited, and he wanted to clarify

by Tylerguy42 on Jan 23, 2012 7:57 PM EST via mobile up reply actions

Predictions:

Nets will score less than 70 points.
DWill will shoot between 30-35% for the night.
Nets will shoot less than 10 free throws for the night.

Seriously, this is the perfect storm for the Nets to have a terrible game. My predictions might end up being optimistic …

by CurlyBeast on Jan 23, 2012 7:48 PM EST reply actions

my concen with marshon is going fwd, not tonight...

certain body parts make me nervous. one is the achilles. hopefully thats pure tiredness/soreness, not a true injury.

look at damion james. all that “day to day, not related to last year.”…and it’s literally the same injury

WHEN YOU DESCRIBE the prototypical NBA center, he is not complete without superlative size, strength and athleticism. He’ll fight for the tough rebounds in the trenches, but is just as quick to burn you with a shot from 15 feet.
Johan Petro possesses all of these skills and more, and bears all the promise of fulfilling his vast potential.

dwill is getting to the basket at will but has like three people around him

these guys need to hit shots for us to have a chance to at least make this a close game

by sipitioking on Jan 23, 2012 8:53 PM EST reply actions

Nets like to shoot 3s.

I wonder if anyone there is telling them to knock it off and start driving. I’m really sick of DWill pulling up at the 3-point line in transition.

by CurlyBeast on Jan 23, 2012 8:54 PM EST reply actions

but none of the bums on this team can make WIDE OPEN SHOTS.

How can you all get mad at deron for not playing like an all star

When you have losers like Okur and Stevenson missing open shots from perfect passes? That does something to your momentum/competitiveness you know.

IMO there has nothing been wrong with his play all season.

Look at his team. Playing with a bunch of scrubs makes it that much easier for the team to defend you which messes with him mentally. Starts getting frustrated, makes bad plays, etc

nets dont need to execute to perfection against below average teams to win but against elite and good team yes to even have a chance

I don't know if this was posted somewhere or not

But Magic may want Chandler and Staudamire from the Knicks for D-howard, if that happens, Deron will definitely go to the knicks

Stephen A shot down his own story today on his show

Just Espn pushing its own nonsense to create headlines don’t worry about it.

"We're not there yet, but we're going somewhere," Johnson said. "And we're going to Brooklyn. We're not going to contract. We're going to Brooklyn."

by Atronic on Jan 23, 2012 9:12 PM EST up reply actions

Bad reporting.

They don’t want either. Trying to raise the price for Howard. Will never happen.

by CurlyBeast on Jan 23, 2012 9:12 PM EST up reply actions

Thats old news Stephen A who reported it shot it down himself

They never really talked about that trade Knicks wouldn’t have the money anyway.

"We're not there yet, but we're going somewhere," Johnson said. "And we're going to Brooklyn. We're not going to contract. We're going to Brooklyn."

by Atronic on Jan 23, 2012 9:11 PM EST up reply actions

why would Orlando want Amare's contract?

Are they really that desperate?

When did I say he was a savior?

Besides, Stevenson is hideous…. like he was two years ago… and three years ago.

Oh pissing blimey there's jam coming out of the walls!

by TWilliAM on Jan 23, 2012 9:12 PM EST up reply actions

Just kidding.

I meant that any new random D-League player increases the hope to supplant current D-League-level player (Stevenson) that’s currently getting minutes for the Nets.

by CurlyBeast on Jan 23, 2012 9:15 PM EST up reply actions

There is replacement level

And there is sub-replacement level.

Stevenson is the latter. There are D-Leaguers that can give you the former. That’s an upgrade worth seeking in the absence of alternatives.

Oh pissing blimey there's jam coming out of the walls!

by TWilliAM on Jan 23, 2012 9:16 PM EST up reply actions

I'm well aware.
