Game 18 - Nets @ Bulls - Monday, January 23, 8:00

The Nets go into Chicago on somewhat of a high. They've won two of the last three, three of the last six, and four of the last 10. Considering how the season started, that's not bad. And the Bulls are not in great shape. Derrick Rose has missed the past four games with a turf toe injury. He'll once again be a game time decision Monday ... although he claims he'll play.

ESPN Chicago's Nick Friedell writes it doesn't end there. Joakim Noah missed Saturday's game because of an ankle injury he suffered in Friday's win over the Cavaliers, but Noah's optimistic about returning vs. the Nets. Luol Deng underwent an MRI on his left wrist Sunday and will be re-evaluated by team physicians on Monday. It's unlikely he can play. Taj Gibson is a different story. He spent Saturday night in a walking boot after injuring his ankle Friday.

For the Nets, Avery Johnson says he expects to reach deeper into the roster to give rotational players some rest in the third night of a back-to-back-to-back. Shawne Williams can be expected to play around the same he played on Sunday, 16 minutes. With DeShawn Stevenson looking like he's in pain, that might become a necessity. Sundiata Gaines should see more action as well.

I would rather just keep as consistant

A lineup as we can not good to keep changing things at timrd, seems as tho starting unit is starting to develop chemistry.

For the Deron Haters

I just watched the post game interviews from last nights game.

Deron was asked how he felt about the Rock after winning. He said he wasn’t trying to make excuses. He’s shooting bad at home and away so there are no excuses. He was just being honest when asked if he liked the Rock.

So at least he manned up about his poor shooting.

by breaking20 on Jan 23, 2012 7:51 AM EST reply actions

Yeah, after his should-have-been triple double he “manned up” about his poor shooting.

Deron just speaks his mind…I don’t know why everyone wants him to talk like every other boring athlete out there.

by SadNetsFan on Jan 23, 2012 7:54 AM EST up reply actions

Who cares?

We are not haters, dude is an allstar and have been playing like trash. We have a lot to lose and his play has lowered his value and has not been encouraging to Dwight. New York/Brooklyn don’t take that mess, he better grow some thicker skin if he’s there for BK, media will destroy him, he has it easy in Jersey. I don’t know if they report net news in jersey but they don’t here.

I hope the Nets grasp the market their moving into, it would be foolish to go into it unprepared.

by Zartan on Jan 23, 2012 8:06 AM EST via mobile up reply actions

He hasn’t bee playing “like trash” but he’s been giving a lazy half hearted effort both on the court and on the mic.

Lazy passes, lazy excuses, it goes on and on. I agree with everything else you say- he’s only hurting his own value, further damaging the Nets brand by saying “the arena sucks, the team sucks, get me help.”

Let’s just hope these things won’t change Deight Howard’s mind although they shouldn’t since D12 also seems pretty immature. Yay!

by mytoemytoe on Jan 23, 2012 8:48 AM EST via mobile up reply actions

It’s just ridiculous to say he has been giving a lazy or half-hearted effort.

Look at his season by season averages…the only thing he isn’t doing well is shooting, it happens. He is actually getting to the line more than almost any other season, his rebound rate and steal rate is right where it usually is.

What is down is his assist # (I wonder why), his shooting %, and PPG. That makes perfect sense considering the players he is playing with, with barely any practice time…offensive numbers across the entire league are down…

Again, sorry Deron speaks his mind, but I have NO idea why anyone thinks he is being lazy. Also, the arena does suck, the team does suck, and he wants help. He is here for Brooklyn, not NJ.

by SadNetsFan on Jan 23, 2012 9:19 AM EST up reply actions

Deron Williams’s biggest problem is his body language apparently.

Maybe the best PG in the league, and we find something to complain about, eh.

by SadNetsFan on Jan 23, 2012 9:27 AM EST up reply actions

I think he is lazy because he is averaging a turnover per game more than he has throughout his career. You can say that those turnovers are coming because his teammates suck but I’ve been watching the games- the turnovers are coming because D-Will is making lazy passes where he slings the ball across the court.

I agree he needs help, I agree the arena sucks, but a good leader doesn’t use any of these things as excuses for why he isn’t playing well.

by mytoemytoe on Jan 23, 2012 9:48 AM EST up reply actions

and he has the worst roster he has ever played with

if you think that his turnovers are not, in part, the result of some bad play and mental errors by his teammates (and the NINE different starting lineups in 17 games) you need to rethink how the game works.

by Net Income on Jan 23, 2012 9:50 AM EST up reply actions

The turnovers come out of frustration that his teammates can’t get better looks so he makes a lazy pass. I understand that. But I’m allowed to be frustrated that he hasn’t been a better leader for this team.

He hasn't been playing like "trash"

the team is 3-3 and he is averaging nearly 20 and 10.

Even over the last 10, when the Nets have been 4-6, he is averaging 18.7 and 9.7, shooting 36.2 from deep. Those are trash numbers? He has shot poorly, at 37.5%, over those 10. As for his turnovers, which people here seem to love to harp on, why not take a look at the top 10 in the NBA.

Williams is followed by John Wall, Rajon Rondon, LeBron James, Monta Ellis, Kevin Durant, and Kobe Bryant. Bad company.

Eh.

There’s a lot of flawed analysis in your post, but it’s not worth debating.

Hopefully, Deron improves as the season goes on; because right now, his play is nowhere near the elite level.

by Dopeness on Jan 23, 2012 10:02 AM EST up reply actions

there is NO analysis in my post

it is all factual, all numbers. There is NO analysis…other than the headline which is close to being factual.

It’s a shame that people get so wound up in their own arguments that when things change and they have, they can’t review their thinking.

"It's as sweet as it ever was, I'll tell you. Now, hopefully, we started something and we can win some more championships, but we're going to enjoy this one right now. Have a little champagne." --Julius Erving, May 12, 1976, ABA champion Nets locker room.

Sigh.

You lead with a claim — which is not close to being factual — “He hasn’t been playing like trash.” What followed was a presentation of raw statistics which do not effectively assess Williams’ production. There is no explicit analysis, but there is certainly an implication.

So far this season, Deron Williams is getting outplayed by his counterpart (both when he was playing SG and PG): http://www.82games.com/1112/11NJN1.HTM If we choose not to do a comparative analysis and just look strictly at his numbers, we’ll find that he’s playing at a slightly below average level (relative to the other point-guards in the league).

It’s not a matter of me being “wound up in my own argument,” but rather an objective assessment of the situation. Nothing has changed. Deron Williams has had some good games and he’s had some bad games. We don’t weigh the good ones more than the bad ones; we put everything together and take away what we can from it. Granted: The sample size is a bit too small — and I’ve admitted that — but to this point, Deron Williams is playing at a below average level. Is that partly as a result of the fact that he plays for a putrid team? I would hope so. It’s a variable that must be considered, but the fact still remains.

by Dopeness on Jan 23, 2012 10:17 AM EST up reply actions

I'm an idiot.

Technically, the second sentence of the second paragraph is, in some sense, a comparative analysis.

by Dopeness on Jan 23, 2012 10:18 AM EST up reply actions

Stats are misleading

If you base off QB rating, Alex Smith had a better game than Eli last night…

by Anthony Perez on Jan 23, 2012 10:39 AM EST up reply actions

And based off numbers

Kris Humphries is one of the best PF’s in the game. Double double average. But there’s no denying that he’s limited defensively (just awful on help D) and extremely limited offensively.

by Anthony Perez on Jan 23, 2012 10:41 AM EST up reply actions

As mytoe said, QB rating is not an effective statistical measure. Stats are not misleading — flawed statistical measures are misleading.

I’m not sure what “numbers” show that Kris Humphries is one of the best PF’s in the game. If you don’t mind me asking, where are you getting that from?

by Dopeness on Jan 23, 2012 10:49 AM EST up reply actions

Sure

Among all forwards, he’s 8th in double doubles, 4th in rebounds, and 27th in scoring (not too bad considering that’s including SF’s). He’s also 11th in FG %

by Anthony Perez on Jan 23, 2012 11:29 AM EST up reply actions

Thanks.

Once again, those statistics aren’t sufficient measures of performance; and don’t tell the whole story in terms of evaluating production.

by Dopeness on Jan 23, 2012 1:47 PM EST up reply actions

That's what I was saying

His stats say he’s a top-tier F, when we know he isn’t.

by Anthony Perez on Jan 23, 2012 2:40 PM EST up reply actions

Using QB rating to say stats are misleading is pretty unfair considering QB rating is one of the worst stats ever invented.

by mytoemytoe on Jan 23, 2012 10:42 AM EST up reply actions

I think people are just holding him to a higher standard.

For a superstar, he’s playing like trash.
For an all-star, he’s playing poorly.
For a third option, he’s playing okay.
For a role player, he’s playing great.
For a scrub, he’s playing phenomenal.

This is a must win. If we can win 2 in a row that will take a lot of pressure off the players. They haven’t been playing with much confidence in my opinion. Wins build confidence and i think a win today will propel us in the right direction. Not saying we go on a 10 game win streak but with some confidence after a win tonight we could see some more wins come. When Brook comes back we will definitely start winning more games.

This is not the same old Nets. We do have a decent team… with Lopez on the court. I think we are definitely a .500 team.

There is a direct correlation b/t

Deron’s effort on Defense And
How he and the team play offensively.
For the 1st 2.5 or so quarters Deron clearly played w/ a “hop” I’m his step (czar’s words) – this “was” initiated on defense n translated into Offense.
Aka – his effort was full and not the inconsistent effort we’ve seen most of the season.
Case in point…he stopped playing D late in the game and poof:
Easy buckets 4 them. He turns back into King of turnovers and prince of chuck and the lead evaporates.
He’s gonna really need 2 bring it tonight against Rose. C’mon D, bring the D.

A number of the Nets would be fine

if playing with great players. The starting backcourt for the Magic’s Finals team three years ago was Rafer Alston and Courtney Lee. Didnt matter much with Howard being Howard and Turkoglu playing out of his mind as a point forward.

Same with DeShawn Stevenson, who started three games in the Finals as I recall. Fine as a complementary piece to Dirk, etc. but a key player, nope. Farmar played solid minutes in THREE Finals with Kobe and Pau. Hump could do the same as a big playing high in a rotation, but all three have real deficiencies. Morrow is a specialist, not a starter.

The rest, beyond D-Will, Lopez and MarShon: 10th players or worse on a contender: Shelden Williams, seven teams in five years? Damion James…injury prone? Larry Owens…who? Jordan Williams? Sundiata Gaines? JOHAN PETRO??

I’m a Jets fan but not one of those football fans that won’t root for the other NY team when my team is out.

Eli Manning is definitely the toughest SOB since Stone Cold Steve Austin. He didn’t have much of a running game to speak of but he gutted out a great game against one of the better defenses I’ve ever seen. He probably should have had two interceptions but even with those I would say he played amazing.

Harbaugh is an incredible coach, and to be honest he got robbed in this one by his punt returner.

That’s not to say that the Giants are going to roll into Indianapolis and stomp the Patriots, whose defense looks much improved from where it was earlier. But I expect there to be tons more offense

If Eli wins his second ring (both against stupid Bill Belichik), will he and his brother Peyton get closer in the argument of who’s better?

by Chakroot on Jan 23, 2012 11:44 AM EST up reply actions

No! Peyton is the greatest QB ever

And all you need to do is look at the Colts this year. NFL is not one of those sports where one guy changes everything… Except for Peyton.

But the hardware argument would be won by Eli, whereas as the stats will always be Peyton’s.

by Chakroot on Jan 23, 2012 11:58 AM EST up reply actions

I think Colin Cowherd put it best

Peyton is A-Rod. Eli is Jeter. Peyton is clearly the more talented QB, but if there’s 2 on and 2 out in the bottom of the 9th, who do you want at the plate? Jeter or A -Rod?

Jeter has been consistently clutch in big games, as has Eli.

He’s 7-3 lifetime in the playoffs. 5 road playoff wins (most of any QB in NFL history). His home stadium is cold and windy and most of his road wins have been in bad conditions (Green Bay, Philly, even SF yesterday). Most 4th quarter TDs in a single season in NFL history.

By the way, to all those Shawne Williams haters out there, I think he plays solid defense and his 3 point shot will come along. I liked the move he made along the baseline yesterday.

I think people have been really unfair to Billy King about the free agent signings he made. None of them are great players but he didn’t pay any of them like great players.

I understand what you are saying about Shawne Williams. But...

It’s kind of hard to judge his performance against a team worse than us. i want to see him bring it tonight…

by aug93 on Jan 23, 2012 10:18 AM EST up reply actions

I agree.

I complained about the Williams signing because I believe that his cap-figure is too small. Based on his career numbers, I feared that his three-point shooting last season was flukey. At this point, the sample size is too small to draw a definitive conclusion; but it certainly looks like it was.

He’s decent, though; he’s a solid defender, has above average BBIQ and has good size for the stretch four.

by Dopeness on Jan 23, 2012 10:26 AM EST up reply actions

Cap-figure is too large, rather.

by Dopeness on Jan 23, 2012 10:26 AM EST up reply actions

I’m not much of a cap-ologist, why would a 2.5 million cap hit be too large? Isn’t that as small as it gets?

by mytoemytoe on Jan 23, 2012 10:36 AM EST up reply actions

I believe that the veteran’s minimum is $1 million. The LLE (what the Nets gave Stevenson) is $2.5 million; however, the Nets could have offered Williams any figure above one million because he wasn’t signed with an exception.

I would preferred a one-year $4 million deal, instead of the two-year $6 million deal the Nets gave Williams. The second year is a player-option, but, unless he dramatically improves his play, I’d be very surprised he opted out. Plus: He’s going to need surgery.

If it had to be two-years, I would have been more comfortable with something closer to $2 million. Whatever, though — it is what it is.

by Dopeness on Jan 23, 2012 10:47 AM EST up reply actions

How’s a human being supposed to live off 1 million dollars? TELL ME.

by mytoemytoe on Jan 23, 2012 10:48 AM EST up reply actions

The Nets were supposedly bidding against the Knicks’ 2.5 million offer, also 2 years. BK only raised the bid by 500k. Shawne can still turn it around and earn his Petro-sized cap hit. That is, unless he requires surgery as he said earlier.

by stenpoint on Jan 23, 2012 11:13 AM EST up reply actions

He makes $3 million this year

and has a PLAYER option for $3.15 million next year. He will now almost assuredly take it.

The Nets COULD use the stretch exception on him (or Farmar, if he decided to stay) and reduce the cap hit.

The Nets can't stretch Farmar

He was signed under the previous CBA. Only players signed under the current CBA can be stretched.

That being said, if we can’t move him, Shawne will undoubtedly be stretched, unless we trade for Howard. If we trade for Howard, then we’re operating as an over the cap team anyway.

In my mind the biggest issue right now plaguing the Nets offense is pump-fakes.

I know why it’s happening: Avery is emphasizing the “extra pass” and FINALLY, the Nets players seem to be listening. But it’s also resulting in guys like Anthony Morrow and MarShon Brooks hesitating when they get a wide open look from 3.

The better decision making SHOULD come along in time, I hope, and then we’ll see this offense open up a little bit more. Obviously the full scope of the offense won’t be realized until Brook Lopez gets worked back in but there is room for improvement.

jordan farmar

I think this sums up how I feel about farmar.

The only time I want jordan farmar to dribble around for 10 seconds and take a terrible forced shot….is when he scored 26 in the 3rd and 4th quarters and brought us back in that game where we were down 20+.

That’s it. I like nothing else about farmar. When the dude is on…he’s acceptable. When he’s off…I want nothing more than to use very ignorant and racist remarks when his hands touch the ball.

I’m not sure 100% exactly why i don’t like him, he’s not a terrible player, he averages decent stats for us this season and gives us a boost of points on the bench…when he’s on.

It’s almost like if Jordan Farmar came on the court and scored 10 ppg, 3.5 apg and 2 rpg as a backup guard, i would only find that acceptable. I have a biased opinion of him.

6 turnovers tho

I’m on your side actually, I think he performed well last night, shot decently (on fire first half, not so much second half) and scored near a triple double (one rebound away) but he needs to turn down the TO’s. 2-4 / game is reasonable given our situation, 6?? by himself? That’s way too much. And 2 TO’s could’ve easily been prevented if he didn’t do those lazy cross court passes.

the sad part is if you watch us play, we live and die by DWill and Brooks. If they both play good basketball, we win for the most part. If they don’t play well, we get destroyed.

by Roccor420 on Jan 23, 2012 11:35 AM EST up reply actions

I agree with what you are saying

that the TOs also need to go down, but it’s going to be tough. The ball is in his hands all the time, that they are bound to happen. It reminds me of when miami was just D-wade and a bunch of players. He led the league in TOs and went north of 5 TOs all the time. Not because he was struggling, but because he was the only playmaker on the team, and had to do it all.

4.4 TOs a game for the entire season in 2007-2008 (he played in 51), when Miami went 15-67 — I’m guessing that was when they had a pretty bad team.

Deron’s averaging 4.3, hopefully that goes down as the season progresses and we get Brook back or the Orlando guy. Deron’s average in recent years has been at around 3.5 TOs.

John Wall and Rajon Rondo have almost as many turnovers

meanwhile, the pg with the fewer turnovers is Devin Harris.

And a lot of those turnovers are guys not being in the right place. There isn’t a lot of BBIQ on this roster.

But essentially, they are lazy mid court passes that he telegraphs and casually throws across court many times.

He’s also still dribbling it off his leg/feet/.

These are his turnovers.

The more common (Trying to hard T/O) like forcing a pass into a man on the post or a guy not being in the right place are NOT his kind of turnovers.

by Jron on Jan 23, 2012 11:51 AM EST up reply actions

it's quite simple

if you are a point guard and the team’s leading scorer, BY NECESSITY, you handle the ball a lot and thus, like Kobe or LeBron or Wall, you make a lot of decisions with the ball, a percentage of which go wrong.

All this malarkey about how his turnover numbers are so much higher than they were in Utah. Yeah, AK-47 vs. Damion James; Carlos Boozer vs. Kris Humphries, etc., etc.

in defense of NI

Out of say the 6 turnovers, 4 are what he is speaking of.

The 2 are lazy direct passes to the other team. Which is why I said at least 2 turnovers need to be curbed / game for me to accept the TO stat that DWill is carrying.

There are at least 2-4 passes PER game where he drives, penetrates into the lane and has nobody to pass to. nobody cut, nobody got open nothing.

Then there are the 2 stupid passes he does / game that is across court turnovers or lazy off the feet dribbling.

The problem is the one man show element of it all

he is pounding the ball too much and the team is not moving or passing either.

35% of his jump shots are assisted and only 15% of close range shots are. Defenses key on one man shows particularly ones that aren’t adept to it. Historically it has not been his game in Utah. He was an opportunistic exploiter.

Here's the deal on the turnovers...

It’s one thing if the ball is hitting the guys hands and they’re fumbling the pass (which happens.

It’s one thing if the ball is being passed to where he thinks guys are supposed to be on a play and they aren’t there (which happens).

The problem is that those are only a small portion of his turnovers. I’ve seen him:

  • lose the ball on his own dribble several times
  • have balls tipped mid-pass (meaning he shouldn’t have been telegraphing his pass) too many times
  • making soft soft passes that come up short several times (Okur has this issue, too)

I’d say it’s about 40/60 a teammate’s fault vs Deron flat out making bad plays.

Also, his “leading” must not become “blaming on the floor”
But For now, as long as it is relatively constructive, I will take anything over the head down, face in towel, bad body language thing.
I’d like to see him take Stevenson’s lead on “how” to lead the right way, with actual on and off-court instructions about x’s and o’s as well as the psychological.

What I am hoping for...

Is for Avery to do his dang job and coach.
Dwill is too talented. Avery has too implore with him that there are enough “wins” in the team as presently constituted.
And even more when Brook returns.
He does not have to “carry” the team as much as he needs to keep that “hop” in his step every game, for as long as he can keep it up.
It breeds wins and it extracts the max out of the guys he’s playing with.
In the end, it makes his job easier than taking plays and nights off.

To be fair, Amare hasn't been the same. He's probably not healthy and certainly deserves some criticism.

Melo is jacking up shots out of isolations because there is no NBA caliber PG to run the offense… all because the Knicks had to amnesty Billups to sign Chandler.

One thing leads to another…

Oh pissing blimey there's jam coming out of the walls!

that's fine, but

if he is not healthy, that is a big blow to the Knicks, who again have no insurance on that contract. Since they amnestied Billups, they can’t amnesty him at any point in that contract.

Look, they needed a big. But they needed to think more Nazr Mohommad than $15 mill Chandler

By fake I mean I bet you NY Knicks did offer Amare and Chandler for Dwight, but Orland had to have scoffed at that deal. I mean seriously….Amare and Chandler? How would that even work? Orlando getting rid of Dwight’s contract does not equate to taking on Amare and Chandler’s contract. As far as salary cap wise I don’t think that will work at all. Knicks can’t take on Hedo’s contract or Duhon’s either.

You’re telling me a Bynum and Gasol deal is not as attractive as a Chandler/Amare deal? Did I just land in basksetball wonderland?

by SIC One on Jan 23, 2012 12:26 PM EST up reply actions

If they made a straight up Bynum for Howard swap

I’m not even sure Dwight would be the 2nd option in LA. Pau is a more skilled offensive player whom Kobe is familiar with. It’ll take time for Howard to mesh with the Lakers.

by TheNetsFan on Jan 23, 2012 12:32 PM EST up reply actions

Best part of that article:
Let me confess to you that I’m torn. From a basketball standpoint, it would seem you do that trade in a heartbeat. You don’t teach seven-feet and you don’t teach the dominate and the skills that Dwight Howard has. But I like Tyson Chandler. I like the fact that he rebounds and defends."

Dwight gets 16 rebs a game. That is around 65% more rebounds than Tyson.

by tategeorge on Jan 23, 2012 12:20 PM EST reply actions

Dwight's 42 and 24 game

honestly took me by surprise. I was just saying to a friend the other day (we were arguing about Dwight’s offensive capabilities) that Dwight lacks on the offensive end in terms of finishing and skill set, and he sent me the link where dwight scored 42 points and 24 rebounds.

Don’t get me wrong, we all know Dwight howard’s offensive game is physical, he bangs bodies down low and mostly run and gun or transition plays that give him his points. You won’t really see him shoot too many post up hooks or fade away jumpers or etc. He does have them and is physically capable of doing those moves, but he doesn’t use them much.

What he does on Defense though, immeasurable. Teams change their entire offensive strategy based on whether Dwight is in the game or sitting on the bench.

by Roccor420 on Jan 23, 2012 12:34 PM EST up reply actions

Sorry I left out the end

my whole point is that Tyson Chandler as great as of a defensive player as he is and as good of a job that he’s done defending Dwight Howard in the past…..is no Dwight Howard and will never…NEVER give you a 42 and 24 game.

by Roccor420 on Jan 23, 2012 12:34 PM EST up reply actions

LMFAO

Anyone who chooses Tyson Chandler over Dwight, especially on the argument that Chandler plays D and rebounds, is mentally challenged.

Dwight’s only a repeat defensive player of the year and rebounding leader.

@NetsDaily

I will refrain from using the “hate” verbiage, but just for clarification, I wasn’t trying to pick a fight. There has been some VERY negative anger towards Shawne Williams on these forums and I think it’s unwarranted. I’m upset that he is injured but I think it’s unfair to say he is a terrible basketball player.

by mytoemytoe on Jan 23, 2012 12:28 PM EST reply actions

The thing with

ShaWill as it is with Morrow. They are spot up jump shooters.

If Dwill is taking shots they are not effective.

When Dwill penetrates and dishes that is where they are good. People that blame ShaWill really dont understand what made him so good last year with the Knicks.

If you are upset ShaWill or Morrow you really need to blame, either AVERY or DWill. ShaWill was signed before Lopez’ injury too. He was suppose to be the Stretch 4 or SF come off the bench to create more space for Lopez. You cant blame him or lopez, but you can point fingers to AVERY and DWIll.

by SIC One on Jan 23, 2012 12:38 PM EST up reply actions

I like Shawne Williams’ defensive contribution far more than Morrow’s, at least so far. On offense he is, like Morrow, very limited in what he does.

The Nets picked up their first home victories last week, but also offered a clue as to why their opponents are shooting 43 percent from 3-point range, by far the highest rate in the league. On the Clippers’ first possession on Monday, the Nets doubled Randy Foye in the post. Why would you ever do that?”
Can’t emphasize that last one enough. Double teaming 2nd rate players in the post leaving open 3’s all game.

This is how that rumor started..

There are a ton of reasons this makes no sense as a real deal and does make sense as a bluff. Prokey did the same thing by driving the price up on the knicks. Kind of like this:

Otis: Ok Billy, You can have Dwight, but we want, Lopez, Your pick, Houston’s Pick, Marshon, and Hump, and you will need to take Turks deal off of our books.

Billy: No. We will give you Lopez and Brooks or our Pick and we won’t take back Turk. Why would we offer more? We are number 1 on dwights list and we can just sign him in the off season?

Otis: Fine.we will just trade him to the Lakers

Billy: No you won’t. Bynum is kind of a stiff and way too injury prone. He is a nice piece but you need more. Plus Dwight doesn’t want to play with Kobe.

Otis: Fine, We will trade him to Atl for Smooth and Joe Johnson.

Billy: No you won’t Dwight won’t resign in Atl. They aren’t on his list.

Otis: Fine, he wants to play with CP3, we will trade him to the clips.

Billy: No you won’t. Clips not on Dwight’s list plus they won’t trade Blake.

Otis: Fine. We will trade him to the knicks. Knicks are on everyone’s list. It would sting if we traded him to your arch rival.

IMO

I actually think Dwight wants nothing to do with LA.

I actually think he wants to play with a PASSING PG. Paul and Dwill were his options. Now that Paul has Griffin, Dwill is the only other Passing PG out there.

Then you factor in Brooklyn. Did the guy not say he wants to create his own legacy? Imagine what his legacy would be like if HE brought a championship to Brooklyn before the Knicks won another championship.

Remember how everyone was saying if Lebron came to the Knicks and WON ONE championship he would be one of the GREATEST Knicks ever.

Imagine what HOWARD would be if he won a Championship in Brooklyn?
