Damion James To Have Surgery On Foot

The Nets announced Saturday that Damion James will undergo surgery to replace the screw in his right foot. The surgery will take place Tuesday at the Indiana University Health Hospital in Indianapolis, and there is no timetable for his return.

James had surgery on the foot in December of 2010. Irritation around the screw has kept him out of action since Jan. 4. He started the first seven games of the season for the Nets.

what the difference?

Between Lopez fracturing the fifth metatarsal in his right foot…and inserting a screw to help the healing process…and James with this injury? I know Robin had a similar injury on his left foot…but spectrum here is scary.

Poor kid.

He seems like a hard worker. Though thats kind of like calling a fat girl “pretty” at this point.

He was an iron man at Texas. Really too bad.

I’ve watched Damion James at Texas and he played in almost all the games. I really thought he’d come on this season.

There are a number of small forwards playing in China. At the top of the list is Wilson Chandler, who’s taking it easy knowing that he’ll be in the NBA in 60 days and is not trying to score 50 a game. He’s restricted, but Denver might want to get something for him rather than have him back and mess up team chemistry.

Marcus Williams (out of Arizona) is a 6’7" guard-forward who’s having a great year. He never had much of an NBA shot. His three percentage is very good.

J. R. Smith is an unrestricted free agent. While not a small forward, perhaps the Nets could play J. R. Smith, MarShon Brooks/Anthony Morrow, and Deron Williams at the same time for a potent offensive lineup.

Career over, another draft nightmare.

Not done.

Damion said that he’s young and wants to get it right because he has a future.

He’s cheap and he’ll be back this year.

However, Nets fans shouldn’t underestimate how his foot injury from last year has hurt the Nets.
