Nets Abandon "BKLYN" Logo
On Monday, the Nets abandoned a trademark application for a team logo that spelled out "bklyn" in the team's current colors of red, blue and grey, apparently getting ready for a new logo, expected out soon. Team insiders have suggested team colors and the logo could come out in February, but a uniform design will wait till summer.
A trademark for the "bklyn" logo was first sought from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office back in April 2010 and was the only visual element on which the team has sought trademark protection since planning their Brooklyn move. There have been a number of hints lately that the new logo will include some variation of "Jay Z Blue", a hue the Nets minority owner has been toying with for years.

talk about a unimaginative design
“Hey, let’s spell out Brooklyn in a shorter way and put in basketball next to it” What ad genius came up with that one?
Wait, that logo actually belonged to this team? Always assumed that was some crappy fan made logo

When Nets make the pitch to Dwight over the summer, they can unveil the custom Brooklyn jersey.

Best news of the day
Although as long as the back of the jersey says “Howard”, the front could say “Schmucks” for all I care.

really??? I would still care. The team is more important than one player. Dwight might be here for maybe 5 years, but the nets will be here for hundreds of years.
Nets>Dwight
against dwight trade
Williams
Brooks
Kidd-Gilchrist
Humphries
Lopez
Josh Howard only signed a one year deal right? The Jazz are playing pretty well right now, don’t think they’d be looking to make moves.

I knew one person would say "Josh Howard"

"Your 2010-2011 New Jersey Nets - It Is What It Is"
Felt obligated. Honestly though, we could see a J. Howard and D. Howard duo but I’m absolutely not bothering to speculate on moves like that 7 months early (though if we do get both, why not throw in Juwan Howard and build the time exclusively of Howards and Williamses)

Except that
Calling our team the Schmucks might cause confusion with the Knicks.

Lakers bench is trash but its obvious
Its a point guard and wing player they need not big.

someone made a compilation of NBA teams’ literal mascots. like the Clippers would have a barber or a pair of scissors as their logo, etc.
is it?

it is what we have now
hence the current logo at center court. that’s just a rendering. they wouldn’t show the new logo/colors in the video since they haven’t been revealed, so they put the court in current colors.

Yahoo! Sports:
G MarShon Brooks has not stopped being impressive. The rookie from Providence had his best all-around performance, scoring a career-high 22 points, grabbing eight rebounds and dishing off six assists. Brooks shot well from the floor, connecting on 8-of-15 shots. He may very well be the most impressive rookie in the NBA thus far.

anyone see how siiick the
heat’s new uni’s are?
they got rid of the orange – all black
imagine something extremely witty here
why do the Lakers always get trounced by the Heat?
I don’t remember the last time we actually had a good LeBron-Kobe matchup
Let's say we don't get dwight and have to trade deron...
Which of these free agent role players would go good around Marshon, Lopez, and our Lottery pick?
Point Guard
Raymond Felton
Kirk Hinrich
Andre Miller
Jameer Nelson
D.J. Augustin
Ramon Sessions
Mo Williams
Shooting Guard
O.J. Mayo
Gerald Henderson
Ray Allen
Landry Fields
Mickael Pietrus
Courtney Lee
C.J. Miles, Utah Jazz
Small Forward
Wilson Chandler
Danilo Gallinari
Gerald Wallace
Sam Young
Matt Barnes
Power Forward
Michael Beasley (i doubt the twolves match an offer)
Brandon Bass
Elton Brand
Antawn Jamison
well I'd draft a PF
or possibly a SF (let’s hope Houston makes the playoffs!), though there are some good ones to be had on the market (Chandler, Gallinari, Wallace)
If we lose Deron obviously our most pressing need would be the point guard, in tthat case I’d sign Felton, no question.
this is all assuming any of those players will want to leave their incumbent teams though, which for most of those I doubt will happen.

If we had to draft a pf
trading up for thomas robinson is a good idea

I like augistin at the point. he is doing his thing
i also like going after chandler or galo. denver will not pay both of them. if we could get beasly for a good price, he may be worth looking at. he is a nut case. but he is talented.
Gallo and Love are getting extensions
Felton loves Portland and has said he hates changing teams constantly, he’ll stay. Hinrich is on the market already.
"Rooting for the Yankees is like rooting for Steve Jobs to win the lotto." - Chris Rock

Draft Thomas Robinson and a small forward.

quick question
Who do we want to have a better game tomm Bynum it Howard???
by brickznujerz on Jan 19, 2012 10:49 PM EST via mobile reply actions
I don't think it matters
I guess Bynum. The more the Lakers win the less likely they are to aggressively go at Howard at the deadline

Saw a Knick fan write a proposal
He said Deron is leaving the Nets anyway so we should trade:
Deron
Marshon Brooks
Brook Lopez
for
Toney Douglas
Carmelo Anthony
Wait wait
No WAY I do that unless we get Jared Jeffries also

3 team trade where…

Nets get: Bynum, Sessions, Matt Barnes

Magic fans should study the following trade hard, since it's the most realistic option:
Brooklyn Nets gets Dwight Howard, who joins Deron Williams, Brook Lopez, MarShon Brooks and a stud from 2012 draft
Orlando Magic gets doughnut.
