Nets Abandon "BKLYN" Logo

US Patent & Trademark Office

On Monday, the Nets abandoned a trademark application for a team logo that spelled out "bklyn" in the team's current colors of red, blue and grey, apparently getting ready for a new logo, expected out soon. Team insiders have suggested team colors and the logo could come out in February, but a uniform design will wait till summer.

A trademark for the "bklyn" logo was first sought from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office back in April 2010 and was the only visual element on which the team has sought trademark protection since planning their Brooklyn move. There have been a number of hints lately that the new logo will include some variation of "Jay Z Blue", a hue the Nets minority owner has been toying with for years.

Josh Howard only signed a one year deal right? The Jazz are playing pretty well right now, don’t think they’d be looking to make moves.

Felt obligated. Honestly though, we could see a J. Howard and D. Howard duo but I’m absolutely not bothering to speculate on moves like that 7 months early (though if we do get both, why not throw in Juwan Howard and build the time exclusively of Howards and Williamses)

it is what we have now

hence the current logo at center court. that’s just a rendering. they wouldn’t show the new logo/colors in the video since they haven’t been revealed, so they put the court in current colors.

Yahoo! Sports:
G MarShon Brooks has not stopped being impressive. The rookie from Providence had his best all-around performance, scoring a career-high 22 points, grabbing eight rebounds and dishing off six assists. Brooks shot well from the floor, connecting on 8-of-15 shots. He may very well be the most impressive rookie in the NBA thus far.

well I'd draft a PF

or possibly a SF (let’s hope Houston makes the playoffs!), though there are some good ones to be had on the market (Chandler, Gallinari, Wallace)

If we lose Deron obviously our most pressing need would be the point guard, in tthat case I’d sign Felton, no question.

this is all assuming any of those players will want to leave their incumbent teams though, which for most of those I doubt will happen.

Felton loves Portland and has said he hates changing teams constantly, he’ll stay. Hinrich is on the market already.

Nets get: Bynum, Sessions, Matt Barnes

Magic fans should study the following trade hard, since it's the most realistic option:

Brooklyn Nets gets Dwight Howard, who joins Deron Williams, Brook Lopez, MarShon Brooks and a stud from 2012 draft
Orlando Magic gets doughnut.
