Tough Start Hurts D-Will in GM Poll
Last year, when playing for the Jazz, half the general managers in the NBA saw Deron Williams as the NBA's best point guard. But in the annual GM poll taken just after the start of the season, D-Will had dropped out of the top three, falling behind Derrick Rose, 59.3%; Chris Paul, 37.3%; and Russell Westbrook, 3.7%.
Williams did get some votes for "best passer" and "best leader" but neither put him in the top three. MarShon Brooks was tied for third in voting, at eight percent for "sleeper success" behind Norris Cole,44%, and Iman Shumpert, 12.0%. (It should be noted that in that category last year, GM's picked Luke Harangody and Patrick Patterson). Among the other Nets to get votes was P.J. Carlesimo for best assistant.

Hard to argue for D-Will but Marshon BEHIND Shumpert?
8% to Shumpert’s 12%… I guess the time will tell on this one. and I certainly hope that will be the case for D-Will as well!
easy to argue for D-Will
last year, 50% thought he was the best point guard, now less than 3%…after a 20 and 10 season?
Come on, that makes NO sense. None.

Talent and capability wise I think he is up there with top dogs
I think the survey is just about current production and it is hard to argue in that case. I’m pro-D-will and believe he will turn it on once we put capable players around him
On season he was on a good team and they were winning
this season, well Tada
Dwight or Bust
Nets lose 33+ games this season.

Out of topic !!!
What do you guys think Pierce’s value is?
If Boston decides to blow it up, they will probably trade him.
Any chance we can be involved somehow ….!?!?
none

I doubt they trade Pierce
They’ll get rid of Garnett and Allen first

Dwill has underwhelmed
He is not what I thought. Kidd came in and changed everything. He has not. Is it because he doesn’t have the talent or because he is not as dynamic a point guard? He is not much of a leader. I have noticed that Nets runs happen when he is OFF the floor. Why do they play better without him? He has the skills and stuff to be one of the best, but he has been consistently outplayed this year by the likes of Teague and Billups to name a few.
The GM's did not pick Brooks in most of the polls...
because they still salty they did not draft him and do not want to admit it.
