Lopez for Love?

I was just thinking that this deal might make a lot of sense. If Dwight comes in free agency, and we don't have to gut our roster, than maybe we could sign and trade Lopez for Kevin Love. We would do it because we would strenghten one of our positions, and he would also stretch the floor well and take some of the pressure from rebounding away from Dwight. I think Minnesota would do it because they would get a legit starting center, and they could play Derrick Williams at the power forward, just to clear up some of that forward logjam. If billy did this on draft day, with an under the table agreement with Dwight, we could also package the Houston pick in with Lopez as well. Draft Micheal Kidd-Gilchrist with our pick and have an insane lineup for years to come.

Deron Williams

MarShon Brooks

Micheal Kidd-Gilchrist

Kevin Love

Dwight Howard

I love Brook Lopez, knowing we brought him up, but I think that this trade would put us over the top. What do you think?

I do not think Minnesota would do this.

You’d have to thrown in a first rounder as well for them to even consider it.

I think it's fine.

What about Marshon Brooks and Brook Lopez?

Minnesota gets to fill their two positions of need (SG and Center) with young players. They have a lineup of Rubio, Brooks, Beasley (or Johnson), derrick williams, and Brook Lopez. This is of course if they don’t think Love is there long term. Our lineup would be so sick. Deron, love, and howard, and whoever in between,.

I didnt add MarShon

Because I thought they played Wes Johnson at the 2.

Wes Johnson has been terrible.

haha sorry for no explanation

its just that theres not need for 2 rebounding machines. Lopez can be the scoring threat midrange while Dwight can be the defensive monster downlow who grabs all the rebounds. Love is just someone else who will take away Dwights rebounds and it wouldn’t work out well

And Kevin Love isn't the scoring threat midrange?

The guy is a great shooter. I love Lopez. But c’mon, saying he wouldn’t work with dwight is insane. they would be hustle for rebounds we would be so dominant on that front. Kevin Love creates fantastic space for Howard.

good idea

however, i think minny would rather trade derrick williams instead of Love because they have seen Love play well for a good time and trust him more. IMHO

I like it

but why would the Wolves do that? It does not help them at all, and they have to resign Love this year anyway. I think we should trade lopes for a sf like granger or gay and draft a pf in the draft, especially if we can get A. Davis or maybe even Drummand

they don't say it all

his defense is awful, his stats don’t show that

by mbspam17 on Jan 16, 2012 10:59 PM EST up reply actions

His defense is terrible, but still better than Lopez's

Love is miles better than Lopez. Literally comparing an All-Star to an above average starting center.
Minnesota would never do this trade. Never even consider it.

I agree they woudn't do the trade, but Lopez is not an above average Center...

He’s a Star Center and he will prove it, he has been playing with awfull teammates. I don’t know any pure Center in the league with such a good offensive game. And again he will be even better offensively once he’s playing with good teammates and isn’t forced to take all the shots against double and triple teams. But his defense sucks, that’s true, but in some part we can clearly can see that sometimes he doesn’t push it harder on defense, because his afraid off getting in contact and be in foul trouble. And he knows that he’s the one who carries the load offensively so he runs away from defense afraid of getting the foul.
So if we get a Real team this summer Lopez will be better offensively (not his stats probably, but he will be more solid and efficient) and defensively. But at PF he may be a liability on defense.

The the offense will be insane Howard and Lopez would be the best Big Men combo since Duncan and Robinson.

And as far as Championships, we all know if any team don’t surge the Heat will win multiple championships. And the best antidote against them in my opinion is having 2 Dominant Big Mens Inside.

2012 Lineup: D-Will - Brooks - AK47 - Lopez - D12... Book it!

Lopez is nowhere near as valuable as Love

If you give them Deron and Lopez, then they’d do it

by muwu on Jan 17, 2012 11:02 AM EST reply actions

i have been thinking the same

i would offer the same trade that we were gonna giv for dwight
Lopez 3 1st rounders 2 of them are lottery pick for love that would work

love the idea

i think just getting kevin love might be enough to keep Dwill and even convince dwight to wait it out till this offseason for brooklyn

i think minnisoda may do the trade lopez morrow and humphries and houstons 1st

once we get love we have very little need for kris humphries who’s contract is expiring anyway
