Just something I want to get off my chest...
A lot of people on this website arefrustrated with the team right now and we all have a right to be. But one thing I dont understand is all the HATE for Billy King and the "roster" he put together.
He traded for Dwight Howard. It was done. Dwight told his teammates he was out. Magic ownership pulled the plug last minute and we were forced to make a bunch of cheap, small moves to fill out the roster.
Then our second best player goes down which is not Kings fault. And this is what is left.
In my opinion, the Nets have two options this year. Go all in for Dwight. Which means preserving cap space to absorb money in a trade and dont make any moves to be ready for Dwight. Or, keep all our assets (Brooks, picks, cap space) and fully rebuild. Get a nice package for Deron, hope Brooks develops, draft a stud and spend some money in the summer. Go into Brooklyn with a young but possibly fun to watch team. And that is what he is doing. Hes prepared for EITHER scenario.
To make small moves to make this team slightly better (20 wins instead of 15) makes no sense.
Hes making the right moves (or lack of) on his end but he cant control what other GMs / owners decide. So we have many reasons to be frustrated but I dont get why its being directed at King.
