PrintA lot of punditry has been expended on how a Nets package for Dwight Howard has been hampered by Brook Lopez's foot injury. But other assets have improved in value. First, the Nets first round pick looks a lot better, unfortunately, than it did before the season, and MarShon Brooks is playing as well as any rookie.
Beyond that are the draft rights to Bojan Bogdanovic, who's taken off lately in Turkey. Bogdanovic is 50-50 to join the NBA next season and appears over his inconsistency. The 6'8" swingman scored 14 points Friday in the Turkish League, shooting 3-of-4 from deep. Over the past month, Bogdanovic is shooting 16-for-30 (53%) on three's, and in the last three games, 10-for-15 (67%) averaging close to 20 ppg.

It's probably Marcus Williams (forward from AZ) not (point guard from CT). He's doing great in China.
The Marcus Williams the Nets selected in the first round with Josh Boone — the point guard from Connecticut — is doing miserable in China.

My opinion on Mayo
I would do either of those deals yesterday.
Mayo is a small risk. He is younger than either Farmar or Morrow, has more varied talents and needs a chance to start over. Maybe there are character issues I’m unaware of, but he can create his own shot, post-up and pass.
I like Morrow and Farmar, but Mayo is a talent. You take risks on talent at this point.

There are no guarantees in te NBA draft either.
That’s the point of scouting, evaluating talent. Almost every pick is a crap shoot. Even the sure things are guanteed to pan out.
In Turkey sure
Just because he scores 20 PPG in Turkey doesn’t mean he’ll do that in the NBA. There is potential, but it’s never a guarantee. We know what we’re getting with OJ Mayo and i doubt Bogdanovic will be a better player than Mayo in the NBA.

When the clippers have to play halfcourt and need a bailout by ball-stopping they just dump him the ball and normally he has the luxury of working one on one because you cant leave Blake or Deandre wide open and their entire backcourt can drain threes like nothing

Mostly a good rebounding and blocking guy
same in U-CONN as well. But he’s going to get some inflated numbers now that the Hornets sucks. My new drafting strategy is mostly big men and high FG% guys. This is my first year doing fantasy and I went for high PPG guys, which is killing me.

my first year of fantasy was the year Elton Brand tore his achilles and Gilbert had microfracture over the summer
they both came back in the championship round. me and my friend were tied and both scoured to the waivers
he got gilbert, i got brand.
gilbert only played like 10/21 games for him
Brand played at like 14/9 for me

As funny as it sounds though, Melo always seems to be there no matter when I pick, and he’s been good for me this season, so far. Morrow also teared it up since he found his touch and gave me some extra 3 pointers and high % overall.

when it comes to guards i just look for dudes that shoot good percentages or get a lot of attempts
in fantasy i either want a gunner or a dude that has an exceptional TS%. anything else is moot unless its MVP level numbers

i actually read a fantasy article that suggested this strategy
don’t worry about assists and kill people in all other categories

its easier to cover up big man deficiencies than guards
Big Men can give you:
Blocks
High FG%
Rebounds
while guards normally have the advantage in Assists and Steals. but if you get elite(in fantasy) big men together like Aldridge, Howard, Love, Bargnani, Horford, than they will get you a plethora of points like a guard and even add 3’s or decent FT%.
Most guards will shoot good FT% to help offset the big men but you’re guaranteed to win at least 5 categories each week and only automatically lose one or two(steals, FT%) if you can get at least a quarter of your roster with elite bigs
only category that is a wash is turnovers.
like i picked up Lowry, Marshon, Carl Landry, Danny Green, and Josh harrelson basically at the end of drafts or on waiver wire

I don’t have great big guys so I might struggle throughout the season…
I had Paul George and MarShon in my draft and dropped both in the season…SMH!!!!!!!!!

I loved Anderson, but I thought getting Lee was a great move. Boy was I wrong. What a crybaby.
