Red Claws Beat Armor on Nets Night
Sly and the Nets Dancers made the trip up to Springfield Saturday to entertain the more than 4,200 Armor fans who showed up to see the latest match-up between the D-League's two New England clubs, the Armor and Maine Red Claws ... and perhaps to catch a glimpse of former Celtic Ricky Davis, who's trying for a comeback.
Davis scored 17 to help the Red Claws defeat the Armor, 104-97, his highest point total since joining the D-League. For the Nets' affiliate, it was mostly about the Louisville Cardinal connection. Two college teammates of ex-Net and ex-Armor Terrence Williams, combined for 50. Jerry Smith had 31 and Preston Knowles had 19 in the contest

Nets are lucky
they will wind up paying only $21 million of the original $35 million contract, with the Kings paying him $14 million.
"It's as sweet as it ever was, I'll tell you. Now, hopefully, we started something and we can win some more championships, but we're going to enjoy this one right now. Have a little champagne." --Julius Erving, May 12, 1976, ABA champion Nets locker room.
Minor league teams have the worst names
Armor, red claws, etc.
But I guess anything is better than being named after a piece of equipment.

Go Nets...Go Armor...Go X-Cards!!!
“Lil Buckets” is Preston Knowles dog. Last season almost every time this photo was posted the Cards came out with a victory.
I’m posting it today for ‘good luck’ for the Nets and the Armor. BTW, I posted it before the Phoenix game and the Nets won. I didn’t post it for the Utah game and the Nets lost.
