Kardashian Fortunes Flailing

He may get booed when he steps on courts away from New Jersey and a (questionable) poll may have declared him the most hated player in the NBA, but Kris Humphries, with his big new contract and success on the court, is doing better than his soon-to-be ex-wife.

The New York Post reports

The wheels came off Kardashian’s caboose in October, when she filed for divorce from Nets forward Kris Humphries after 72 days of a sham marriage. E!’s Kardashian TV franchise, "Keeping up with the Kardashians," suffered a 14 percent dip in Nielsen ratings, from 3.5 million viewers per episode last season to 3 million this season. Circulation at Us Weekly, In Touch, Life & Style and OK! dropped about 18 percent when a Kardashian was on the cover in December.

Everything the reality family touches turns absolutely toxic

If he makes it to the offseason him and Deron are staying in NJ, since we are his first choice he will come here...but if he is traded its us and Lakers

Hopefully Bynum keeps playing good so Lakers will think he is better than Dwight and not trade him, which I see happening.

by RandyOreens on Jan 13, 2012 1:44 PM EST reply actions

Lakers have one of the best FO in the NBA

They know DH12 is better than Bynum no matter how he plays. Question is whether Bynum and fillers are enough to get DH12 or Magic would want Gasol too. Then they will think twice about that.

Bucher... really Lakers shopping Gasol?
Bernard (Philadelphia)

With Otis Smith stating they won’t trade Howard until after the All Star Game, and with Bynum getting more touches offensively are the Lakers and Orlando going to trade straight up Howard/Bynum with draft pics? Are the Lakers and Nets talking a Pau/Williams trade?
Ric Bucher
(2:07 PM)

Everyone I’ve talked to in the league just can’t see it. LA picks just aren’t high enough, for one. And if you’re Orlando, no matter how well Bynum is playing, you can’t hitch everything to him. You need picks and another young player to at least cover you from coming up empty if Bynum goes down again. But waiting until after the all-star break really screws up both the Lakers and Nets. For the Lakers, it means waiting until it may be too late to find a groove for this year with Howard, and if it costs both Gasol and Howard to get him, are you really that much better this year? That’s why Lakers are contemplating moving Gasol to improve now. Which would take them out of the Howard race if they did.

by Roccor420 on Jan 13, 2012 2:42 PM EST up reply actions

To me, a Superstar is a player who has the ability to (relatively) consistently play above the level of his peers. Which Deron has not shown this year.

Ability to perform at high level amongst scrubs (during his prime, of course) is key. Play like a man amongst boys. For example, Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose are young but obviously superstars in the making. Deron is not in that league.

"My interest in owning the Nets has not diminished at all," Prokhorov said in an e-mail this week when asked if his political aspirations presented a problem unforeseen when his purchase of controlling ownership from Bruce C. Ratner in 2010 injected life into the stalled Barclays Center project.

"Regarding team operations, I hate to disillusion anyone, but I do not make the day-to-day decisions," he added. "We have a superb management team in place and I see my role as lending vision and strategy ideas, but not intruding on their good judgment."

Back to the Hump topic........

I don’t think it is a huge secret that Hump is my favorite Net……however, my girlfriend is a big fan of all this Kardashian nonsense so I got stuck watching an episode the other night……

I freely admit that I ended up watching 3 or 4 episodes in a row and posting about how great Hump was on Facebook midway thru the second episode. It is absoutely MUST WATCH TV to see how absolutely retarded everyone in the Kardashian clan is (Lamar’s wife looks even more disgusting on the show, and that clown Scott Disick is the biggest toolbag I have ever seen in my life) and Hump just makes fun of them to their faces throughout the entire show. It is awesome. He comes across as a very very cool guy – and the kind of guy most people would want to go hang out at a bar with.

I think without a doubt Hump will come out the victor in this…..and Kris’ prediction that nobody would care about Kim when she has kids in the future – if she got pregnant today – I am not sure anyone would care about her by the time the 9 months is up…..Even though, I could see her getting knocked up to stay on the covers of magazines. In any event, Kris was the voice of reason.

Oh and the Dubai trip that she took – it was to promote a milkshake shop at a shopping mall. Imagine any other celeb tweeing non-stop about their trip to (insert foreign country) to promote a ice cream shop in a mall – they would be laughed off the map……

Do you think the magic can go after D-will if they get another team involved?

Alex Kennedy
I’ve been told that the New Jersey Nets aren’t too happy with the Orlando Magic. Last month, the Magic and Nets agreed to a deal involving Dwight Howard, but Orlando’s ownership stepped in and stopped it at the last second. New Jersey was upset because they thought they had landed Howard. Then, several days later, Brook Lopez fractured the fifth metatarsal in his right foot. The Nets were annoyed that the Magic backed out of the deal and they were angry when Lopez went down because he shouldn’t have even been on their roster had things gone as planned. After everything that happened, it’s hard to imagine New Jersey turning around and trading Deron Williams to Orlando, but we’ll see what happens

They can't get both though

Deron and Dwight seem to be pretty set on playing together, that’s really far fetched on Dallas. They have a very complex situation, and it’ll take some miracles for them to pull off the signing of both Deron and Dwight. That’s why I don’t see it happening. But in the case, that Dwight goes to the Lakers and signs an extension there, then you can say goodbye to Deron.
