Isles Preseason Game in Brooklyn?

PrintB. D. Gallof of WFAN and Hockey Independent reports the Islanders are in discussions with Nets management about playing a preseason game this fall at Barclays Center. The Islanders are looking at alternatives to Nassau Coliseum which everyone admits is outmoded.
Bruce Ratner and Brett Yormark have met with NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman about the possibility of the Isles moving to Brooklyn at the end of their lease with Nassau County followingt the 2015 season.
One advantage for the Islanders is that the LIRR's Atlantic Terminal is around the corner from the arena. A disadvantage is that the arena's capacity for hockey games is believed to be no more than 14,500.

Sounds like the pre-season will be a test Before making any final decision.
Same as Nets playing a pre-season in Newark, before deciding the next year to make it a temporary home.

Yes, definitely better than relocation outside of NYC, but Barclays likely isn’t a viable long-term option as a tenancy with such a small capacity. The Isles have had preseason games in Saskatoon, Kansas City, and Yarmouth in recent years, so let’s not get anyone’s hopes up—it’s just an exhibition game.
That said, I can’t wait to go.
