I don't know what some of you expect

At this point the only reason you should be watching Nets games is MarShon Brooks upping or maintaining his trade value.

We have zero players who can truly play this game at a high level except Lopez and Deron.

Silver lining for everyone: the more we lose, the better our pick gets. The better Marshon plays, the better his trade value gets.

The only thing I hope for now is a speedy and successful recovery for Brook.

if these guys grow some marvels and play some defence we can come back
we’ve had some runs in second halves lately and against this team we should have our run, but if they play like they did in the first half they’ll score 140 points and we’ll lose by 35

so lemme get this straight...

…we lose on on Melo cuz knicks give up a package that currently looks like it’s working out for the Nugs.

We give up good assets for DWill, but our team stinks while Utah is winning.

We get a chance to get Nene which would have softened the blow of the BLo trade, but pass on him in hopes of getting Dwight.

And currently, LA is still a strong candidate to land Dwight which could cost us DWill this summer.

What's with Net fans not respecting their players?
Nene > Hump

Nene per 40
17.5 ppg
11.5 rpg
2.3 apg

Hump per 40
16.1 ppg
12.9 rpg
1.2 apg

Nene is also much better at blocking shots and getting steals.

If you take MVP to mean valuable to his team, maybe so.
As much as I hate this season so far, we have to remember that Lopez being out has had a domino effect on what our other players can’t do. No paint presence at all is a recipe for disaster.
Not that Lopez is great, but at least competent, unlike Petro, Shel Williams, and the rest.

I'm HOT at AVERY....

you have to make it #1 priority NETS AS A TEAM MUST defend in preseason…. Like Mike Brown does with the lakers. It doesn’t matter how many points you can score, anyone/team in the NBA can score just look at PHX & NYK. Historically, those teams look good on paper with the high scoring but they aren’t winning jack in the Nba because they can’t DEFEND! Boy, can’t believe Iama type this but I miss Lawrence Frank because his teams actually defend. But I rather have Scott because although he played for “Showtime Lakers” defense goes a looooooong way in the NBA

i thought deron was committed to changing his attitude

you may say I’m nit picking or whatever, but when the “leader” and the “superstar” on your team is walking back on d, whining, complaining, not leading the team, it sends a bad message and a bad vibe throughout the team. and that means something. the nets can’t afford their leader to be a diva. deron supposedly signed up for this path. he could’ve had BK sign nene or some other good FAs, but he didn’t because he wants to play with dwight. so i don’t want to see him acting like he’s so much better than everyone else on this team, especially because he’s the one who signed off on this strategy. he needs to commit to changing his attitude and quickly because its pissing me, and a lot of other nets fans, off

And the reactions I see on here are crazy. So Deron sulks when we lose? Guess what…most players do. He does try out there. I’d even say he tries too hard. How many forced shots or forced passes have you seen from him because he wants to make something happen? This team just sucks. Full of role-playing wings and 1 or maybe 2 legit big men.

Remember he spent his career in Utah. One coach for like 100 years. Everyone knew the system. Everyone knew where to be. Deron always had bigs to make life easier. In contrast, this nets team was thrown together a few days before the season and have had 1-2 practices total in 9 games. Put ANY player in that life and they’d sulk and be angry.

Indeed

why blame the superstar when you can blame the role-players?

These refs are horrific. the nba is so rigged. what did tim donaghy say about if he thinks the nba is still rigged? Yes.

of course it is

watch how marshon brooks and deron are officiated then watch how wade and kobe are officiated. it’s like they’re not even trying hide it.

for everyone so vehemently defending dwill right now

let me ask u a question. why in hell don’t u have a problem with this teams leader and superstar not getting back on d, especially when its him who makes a bad play? its like running to 1st base, everyone does it. derek jeter might miss a perfect pitch and hit a little grounder, but he hustles EVERY single time. no matter what. no matter the score. thats why he’s so respected as a player and as a leader.
why exactly is deron’s walking back ok?

by BenJ16 on Jan 11, 2012 11:33 PM EST reply actions

Players have bad plays

Jeter doesn’t sprint on every grounder.

Deron was yapping at the official about non-calls. Look at the FT disparity. He had reason to be upset and it got the best of him. It happens. Did that one play cost us the game? No…our lack of talent and any semblance of a post presence did.

his attitude wasn’t okay but the fact that the officiating was so horrible, i hardly blame him. The nuggets could do no wrong and he made his voice heard. We weren’t winning anyways, the nba sucks.

I honestly feel a Dwight trade coming soon.

Honestly, how could Billy King be watching this, seeing Deron putting his face in his towel (which i thought was very immature), and not be working his butt off for a trade? Billy has to be watching and saying to himself, “This situation isn’t getting any better.” I believe that he is working extremely hard to get a trade done. I see Dwight in a Nets uniform by the end of January, UNLESS they start winning more games. BTW, why was Deron ejected?

this team is bunch of bums they lack talent how can you win a game with

d will
morrow
shawne
hump
petro
on the floor together
only one person in that lineup can dribble the ball why would we win ?

Exactly!

Do you want to beat the nets? Stop the pg and rotate quickly on the perimeter. That’s it. Problem solved.

Deron is forced into a bad pass, force morrow or another “shooter” into a tough shot. And bam…long rebound and easy bucket.

by KnownAsMacho on Jan 11, 2012 11:40 PM EST via mobile up reply actions

Life as nets fans

We scream: “He’s the best young center in the game! Trade for him”

Fast forward 3 weeks when he has a 10 pt 6 rebound game.

We scream: “trade this bum. He’s such a head case. what do you think we can land for him? A second rounder?”

by Koma on Jan 11, 2012 11:37 PM EST reply actions

It all depends on Dwight. If we don't get D12 before or near the deadline, trade Deron.

Then build around the package you’ll get in return + Lopez + Brooks + get a high pick in the upcoming draft + go hard after Gerald Wallace in free agency. It’s pretty obvious that D-Will can’t take the losing anymore. He’s at his tipping point. I won’t be surprised if he requests for a trade in a few days or weeks.

by qwertify on Jan 11, 2012 11:38 PM EST reply actions

agree

“sources” are gonna start whispering about d-will wanting out by february, book it

by William_H_HOLLA on Jan 11, 2012 11:39 PM EST up reply actions

it would b hard to trade him

since teams kno he will only b a rental

by Koma on Jan 11, 2012 11:39 PM EST reply actions

Maybe contenders that badly need a PG would like to rent him

I’m thinking Lakers, question is how much are they willing to give up for D-Will?

by qwertify on Jan 11, 2012 11:43 PM EST up reply actions

hump – can’t put the ball on the floor
petro – can’t put the ball on the floor
okur – can barely i mean barely put the ball on the floor
morrow – can’t put the ball on the floor
shawne – can’t put the ball on the floor
stevenson – can barely put the ball on the floor
get the point only d will farmar & brooks can

Excellent point. The team was put together to really compliment Dwill and an inside presence (Brook or D12). Without an inside presence…it’s extremely difficult for us to run a good offense. Hence the forced shots and turnovers. In spite of this, our offense has been ok the last few games. It’s our defense that is really maddening. We can’t protect the paint and don’t recover in time after double teams to cover the 3 ball. It’s obvious that some of our guys just don’t get the defensive rotations.

by jcrack82 on Jan 11, 2012 11:53 PM EST via mobile up reply actions

i agree

but who would he get traded for

by Koma on Jan 11, 2012 11:41 PM EST reply actions

Billy thinks he has it all figured out.

Get dwight; if not at deadline then at the end of the season. Leaving us with this sorry excuse of a team. What hes underthinking in his head: If we the fans can barely get through 10 games, HOW THE HELL IS DERON GOING TO get through 66 of them? He better hopes that guy doesnt ask for out, because if he does, then its going to be nuclear for this team and result in the loss of countless fans. I DEFINITELY cant take another 5- 8 years of rebuilding.

by YOUNG NET on Jan 11, 2012 11:41 PM EST reply actions

DWILL....

He is the Nets franchise star player. Yea it’s fustrating because a. team lacks overall talent as a whole b. Not getting calls on a nightly basis because of the “Nets Monkier” around the league & c. Avery has no clue what the team is running on a nightly basis due to the team been thrown together at the 11th hour, which is also partly due to injuries. But I’m mad @ DWill for one thing not hustling on that “charge play that farmer took” on his turnover. Other players on that bench are looking at him for leadership. This team goes no where without him! As for the Refs he deserves to be pissed at them because once again the gave no calls what so ever, hench Morrow getting a technical as well. But on the court DWill can’t show fustrations to the players. Now off the court I is something totally different if he says something about the refs and gets fined by the league. But for people to sit here and say "TRADE D-WILL* that’s just shear ludicrous talk for this franchise to do in the state they are in as of this moment in moving to Brooklyn.
