The Cavs announcers said:
Lopez had 5 rebounds a game last year, implying that was all he was capable of doing.
They thought that the Nets were going to trade DWill for Howard, and told us that wasn’t a good idea (lol).
They implied over and over that the Nets were very inferior to the Cavs.
I don’t recall the Nets announcers ever doing that to the Cavs or other team in the past.
Who is their color commentator anyway.

But at the end of the 1/2 he conceded the Nets were playing better D than he thought they were capable of.

I’ve barely been able to keep my focus on this one. How’s it looked? I’ve seen tons of turnovers, Shelden obviously trying to impress his wife instead of actually playing basketball, Damion James making a lot of effort plays, Deron making some good plays, and a lot of turnovers. Am I missing anything?

I know I've said it before, but...
Deron Williams is not very impressive. I have to admit, I didn’t watch the Jazz much when he was there, aside from when they were in the playoffs.
His numbers would suggest that he’s an elite — the real elite — player (as would his track record), but from everything I’ve seen, he’s not. Hope he’s injured or something.

I mean, he gets to the rim great. Has great vision. His shooting has been unimpressive but other than that, I still believe he’s nasty. Also think he’s not going 100% cause he knows next season is where it’s at.

Weak teams making impossible shots, 3’s from mid-court, role-players looking like Jordan and ex-coaches seem like defensive geniuses. Rationally speaking I know this is a team in transition, and it is hard to criticize an unfinished product but damn….. It would be nice for the Nets to surprise us a little by reversing a trend.

which still doesn’t do it for me. We have absolutely NO offense besides Deron, I want marshon in the game, getting his burn and basically getting all the rookie brainfarts out of the way. It’s going to be a while til we see Lopez, Brooks needs to be on the floor…period.

People complain about Brooks not playing – give it time – he’ll get in there. The bigger problem is small forward. James can defend but he’s a black hole on offense; he managed 10 points tonight but he’s very indecisive with the ball and turns it over way too much. This team can’t score and James is no help whatsoever in that regard.
I don’t like the setup of the backcourt at all; Deron needs to be at PG, not this silly setup where Gaines is at PG on most plays. Push Gaines to the 2nd unit’s PG.
Tonight still should have been closer though; Cavs hit sixteen 3-pointers at a 60+ percent clip. Crazy.

The dude can’t catch a pass, until he gets it together his playing time should be reduced.

I think he got some time there tonight, but I don’t think that helps. He’s just a bad offensive player and no way would I take away any of Hump’s minutes for him.
I don’t think there is a good in house option for SF. Guys like Stevenson, Shawne Williams, and Morrow can spot you there but they are all backups and the best scorer of them (Morrow) is a bad defender and better suited as a SG.
james has been awful especially w the TO's
but I don’t think he’s as terrible as he has looked early on. We got no better options really so for now i think he have to encourage him to be aggressive offensively. (that’s how bad our offense is) I liked his decisiveness early on but it tapered off, probably with fatigue.

let’s give him his props on the boards and his general activity level. he did do something right.
Defense
Yeah I have no doubt he’s a good defender. And unfortunately, since the other in-house choices aren’t much better, I do think you have to keep rolling him out there.
I just hope King is active in trying to find someone who can be of some use there, even if a backup who can split time with him. Kirilenko would’ve made tons of sense, it’s too bad he’s staying in Russia.
