Only Five Nets Rank in ESPN Top 250
ESPN's ranking of 500 NBA players is half done and only five Nets from last year's roster are ranked in top 250 players. They are Deron Williams, Brook Lopez, Anthony Morrow, Kris Humphries and Sasha Vujacic, not necessarily in that order. At the other end, 10 Nets rank in the bottom 150 and five in the bottom 100.
Just missing the cut was Jordan Farmar at 251. The others, as ranked by ESPN's 91 "experts" were: Travis Outlaw (271), Brandan Wright (305), Marshon Brooks (347), Damion James (352), Dan Gadzuric (356), Mario West (358), Quinton Ross (372), Johan Petro (373), Sundiata Gaines (402), Ben Uzoh (412), Stephen Graham (443), Jordan Williams (475) and Orien Greene (484).
Eight players taken before Brooks (347) in the draft --including two lottery picks-- were ranked below him by ESPN's experts: Klay Thompson and Markieff Morris (tied for 349), Nikola Vucevic (391), Chris Singleton (360), Donatas Motiejunas (386), Nolan Smith (394), Reggie Jackson (422) and the Knicks' pick, Iman Shumpert (440). No one picked after him ranked higher.

Outlaw prob doesn’t even care. If he did he wouldn’t be practicing in Miss. He would go to where NBA players can give him competition on a daily basis. What a bum this dude is, he got this far due to athleticism and now its showing.

I doubt ESPN ranks Deron in the top ten.
I think it's fine.

Devin Kharpertian's tweet about Outlaw
i would’ve made this travis outlaw tweet minutes ago, but i kept pump-faking on the enter key. #NBARank
1 - D. Williams / J. Farmar / S. Gaines / B. Uzoh
2 - A. Morrow / S. Graham / M. Brooks
3 - T. Outlaw / D.James
4 - K. Humpries / D. Gadzuric / B. Wright / J. Williams
5 - B. Lopez / J. Petro
There is only 4 players
at the top half of the rank.
Now I can realize more why the Nets are low grade team.
1 - D. Williams / J. Farmar / S. Gaines / B. Uzoh
2 - A. Morrow / S. Graham / M. Brooks
3 - T. Outlaw / D.James
4 - K. Humpries / D. Gadzuric / B. Wright / J. Williams
5 - B. Lopez / J. Petro
i can understand evaluating players who have actually played in the NBA
but rookies? rookies who may not even play this season? whats the point?
Not good
Lists like these are highly debatable by nature and players always look better on winning teams. That being said, it does put into focus how little talent our roster has. Morrow is likely to be in the 200-250 range, the hump around 100-150, Brook 50-100 (though he might squeak into the top 50), and Deron in the top 15, maybe top 10. Ugh.
82-0
the big news to me
was the Brooks stuff, ranking him ahead of EIGHT players taken before him in the draft, including two lottery picks?!
That means the majority of ESPN experts doing the ranking already think he was a lottery or near lottery selection, rather than the 25th player in the Draft.
