Kansas Rejects: Kris Humphries and Terrence Williams
In an excerpt from the book "Beyond the Phog - Untold Stories from Kansas Basketball's Most Dominant Decade," former Jayhawk Keith Langford reveals that Kris Humphries, a top recruit at the time, was rejected by then coach Roy Williams because Kansas players told Williams that Humphries was "an absolute jerk."
Humphries apparently told the Jayhawks that he was going to lead the team in scoring as a freshman and that they would be taking a back seat. A similar scenario played out under Bill Self when Terrence Williams visited the campus.

If you watch Keeping Up With the Kardashians
and I have seen a little bit, regrettably, this is their impression of Hump as well
Khloe called him a jerk
and there are rumors that Kim’s sisters hate him…
Hump looks like a nice & funny guy, but I don’t know him so who knows how he really is.
Isn't poetic license allowed on this blog ?

I stand corrected...T-Will is not full of himself...

He has no room to be full of himself…He’s full of everything else though.

Please
Williams doesn’t make Hump expendable at all. And I don’t dislike JWill, but Hump was tremendous for us last season.

LOL...
Jordan Williams did his damage against a pretty good NBA caliber team…
He was playing against these guys…
Dahntay Jones: 16 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists.
Josh Selby: 20 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists.
- O.J. Mayo: 17 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal.
Jermaine O’Neal: 12 points, 8 rebounds.
Rudy Gay: 17 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal, 1 block.
Derrick Caracter: 8 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks.
Corey Stokes: 10 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals.
in a league where no defense is played and is being criticized for consistently sloppy play
Good for JWill for playing well, but doesn’t mean Hump is expendable yet
The problem is we don't have Humphries on our team anymore...
He’s not expendable because he’s now a free agent. You can’t get expend something you don’t have…I like Humphries a lot, but how many PF’s are we going tp spend big bucks on, if you believe the rumors that the Nets are hot for Nene or West…
Well known that's what Hump did @ Minny. He used his yr to up his draft stock
He still played well for us, was a professional and liked by his teammates.

TWill on the other hand…
T-Will went on to louisville to be like the ultimate team player.

Yep
Too bad he wasn’t much of a professional w/ the Nets. His behavior off the court got him traded when we could have really used him. Still have hope for him as a player though
You are correct
There’s only one basketball coach in Kentucky with “exemplary character”…John Calipari.

He is still loved in Kentucky...
Who knows…The Nets had no strong, stable leadership the first year T-Will was here. Maybe the Nets bring him back and give him a second chance one day…
Scoring ? Like in chicks ?
Rebounding ? Like in “getting it on the rebound” ?
In all seriousness,.Humphries is a very nice piece to have our team. He played very well last year, and he’s a tough player. The Nets need toughness. But is he a starting caliber NBA player worth big bucks or is he a role player that had a break out year playing for a weak team.
I wonder what Billy King and Co. think he’s worth…Hopefully we will all find out once this lockout is over…
minnesota? he was a one-man show kinda like marshon except marshon was a good teammate
and his ego made him leave college too early and he paid for it for about 6 years until he finally “got it”
