D-Will Loses Again, Blames Refs
Deron Williams wasn't too happy about his Besiktas team losing to Barca Tercas Teramo, 86-84, Sunday in the third place game of the Vasco Martini exhibition tournament. First of all, Teramo is led by his Illinois teammate, Dee Brown. He wasn't crazy about the refereeing either.
He tweeted, "Italian refs was in full Tim Donaghy mode tonight but its all good! Ready to get back to Istanbul." D-Will scored 14 points on 5-for-20 shooting, grabbing 5 rebounds and handing out 10 assists. He's spent one day in Istanbul since arriving Sept. 8, playing in two Italian tournaments.
He plays his first official European game, a EuroCup contest vs. a Belgian team, a week from Tuesday.

Must be the wrist, no doubt in my mind. Deron has always been a very good and efficient offensive player
He's not blaming his wrist nor his team nor the conditions
He’s blaming the refs. Never goes out of fashion, I guess.
2010-2011 = acquire an All-Star via cap space as Thorn himself said
2011-2012 = make the playoffs without hindering future flexibility
2012 off-season = sign the second All-Star
2012-2013 = make a run for the championship
Mission accomplished thus far.
He's probably being double and triple teamed
That can’t help

There probably aren't
any Super Star calls and treatment overseas’s. No more spoon feeding or bottle drinking by the refs.
"Most people on this board are like a broken clock, Only right two times a day"
He shouldn't be taking so many shots if he is double and triple teamed.
He must not have confidence in his teammates.
This is like the start of training camp, after recovering from an injury. Can’t make any judgements for a few more weeks.
Im glad he's havign fun lol

LOL at blaming the refs
Guess that reason/excuse works regardless of the league.

not worried about stats
The talent around him is not that good. This is exhibition. Dwill is getting in game shape, by the time camp finally starts he will be at least a step ahead of everyone. He needs to work on his shooting, getting the flexibility, and muscle memory back.
I really hate his attitude.. but he’s the best player the Nets have had in a long time. I’ll conveniently forget that I don’t really like him all that much, if he can help the team improve.
He absolutely has the right to be upset with the refs right now.
He is not used to the game there and quite frankly his team is full of scrubs. He’ll have to get used to it.
I think it's fine.

he's a
surly dood. if he’s not winning, he’s extremely surly. if he makes it to brooklyn, he better bring his game because it won’t be his rosy personality that get’s him those billboards.
imagine something extremely witty here
One could say he's simply being a "competitor"
But there is something said for being a professional too. Blaming the refs after every game gets old real quick. Keep it classy DWill (or at least try).

not just talking about this game
on the plus side you could say his personality is what it is because he’s an individual, and a compettitor who dosen’t talk in cliches.
on the negative, you could say he’s a moody d-bag who can be a divisive.
maybe he’s somewhere in the middle. just hoping to see him play for the nets and figure it all out later.

I have a few friends who played college ball against d-will
and they have said, as nicely as possible (b/c they know I’m a fan), that deron was the worst guy out there. Barking at officials and teammates… Acting like he was deron Williams now, but back when he was at Illinois. They said very few guys liked him as a teammate, but you can’t argue with the results (usually).
How many guys actually like Kobe Bryant, or like being on his team? Between the millions of dollars and championship rings, I can see people getting over the disdain for such types of players
I wish some of it would rub off on Lopez

its not like D-Will went to Turkey to win a championship
or even win a game. Beseiktas is known for signing players more as publicity stunts than to become more competitive in their league. while i don’t care how his current team performs either way, the headline should read “besiktas loses again; despite the presence of deron williams”
but he should own the competition in that kind of league.
Hopefully he will soon.
JJ for 3!
He should have never went in the 1st place

Not for nothing but
Brooks would avg at least 25 a game easy, but he’s a natural scorer and fully healthy.
"We're not there yet, but we're going somewhere," Johnson said. "And we're going to Brooklyn. We're not going to contract. We're going to Brooklyn."
It's really not that serious.
Honestly, with the exception of NetsMarshonShirtGate I don’t have a problem with anything Deron has said or done so far, most of it’s been overblown by us fans and the media.
He does seem like half an @$$hole, but most of the great ones are, so I’m not sweating that one bit.
Hell, even Durant was being a douche after losses in the playoffs and he’s one of the “nice guy” superstars.
Kobe, Lebron, Wade, etc., these guys are not the friendliest or most down to earth.
Dirk is pretty cool, so is Chris Paul, but those guys are more on the rare side.
Then there’s guys like Derrick Rose, who if not playing basketball would be about as entertaining as watching someone separate Good and Plenty into Goods and Plenty’s.

Look at Jordan and Tiger Woods
Both propped up by their advertising and marketing campaigns to make them look wholesome, wonderfully nice and thoughtful men.
When in reality…
I think Deron could use a little marketing himself, and perhaps now that he’s in the #1 media market in the world, he’ll get it.

i’m sure a lot of players would in the heat of the moment blame the refs after NBA losses as well if it werent for the Stern punishment they’re sure to get. This league probably doesnt have those kind of rules in place, and their refs are probably 10x as worse, so I’m willing to give D-Will on pass this one.
Though 5-20 is a scary looking stat.
Though 5-20 is a scary looking stat.
For real. He should be putting up at least 30 shots per game with that band of goons around him.

Nothing to be concerned about.
This is basically just rehab for Deron, people are overreacting big-time right now.
agreed it's the lockout
