Mitchell Misses Out On Minny Job; Likely To Return To Jersey
Rick Adelman said he wanted to take some time off after his gig with the Rockets but the lure of a young team (and as much as $25 mllion) lured him to Minnesota and he beat out Nets' assistant Sam Mitchell for the T'wolves job. It had been reported that Mitchell, Adelman and Don Nelson were leading candidates.
It's likely Mitchell will now return to New Jersey, where he was Avery Johnson's lead assistant last season. The Nets are still waiting on John Loyer who has reportedly been offered an assistant's job under Lawrence Frank in Detroit. The Nets also have a vacancy opened up with Larry Krystkowiak left the team to take the head coach job at the University of Utah. P.J. Carlesimo has been mentioned for that job.

Hope he can come back without a grudge.
I just read a rumor about the Nets being interested in Deng. Don’t know how the contracts would work but Morrow and a resigned player would have to be moved. Unless we can include a pick and get the Bulls to take Outhouse.
Deron
Brooks
Deng
Nene or Hump?
Lopez
Pretty good team on paper and Deng is better than either Prince or AK47, younger also.

agree
but Deng is pretty “Deng” good lol Prince can give you similar numbers playing with DWill I think so why not? either will do
No it doesn't
He’s a good scorer but he’s not Monta Ellis in that sense.
"We're not there yet, but we're going somewhere," Johnson said. "And we're going to Brooklyn. We're not going to contract. We're going to Brooklyn."
yea thats what I was thinking too
but I wouldnt be surprised if the Nets were interested in Deng tho. he had a great run in the playoffs and pretty much all last season..teams will be calling
I'm sure the Nets are interested
i’m also sure the Bulls aren’t trading him to us for a pile of garbage and a future 1st rounder.
Deng would be a good addition for sure
I’m not so sure Chicago would want Morrow though. They don’t have a point guard that will get him the ball when he’s open and he can’t create his own shot.
When you have to shoot, shoot don't talk.
Don't think we would touch that contract either
"We're not there yet, but we're going somewhere," Johnson said. "And we're going to Brooklyn. We're not going to contract. We're going to Brooklyn."
keep Mitchell
let Loyer walk and add PJ Carlisimo
not really, Nets still have the better roster. Toronto was full of young talent that never made it to the playoffs, Nets had RJ and Kidd who went to the finals and a semi prime VC

The Nets had the better team that's why they won
I thought you didn’t care what the journalists said?
When you have to shoot, shoot don't talk.
LOL reminds me of that South park character

Why u choose Loyer to go?
This is real question.
What is Mitchell better than Loyer?
Or is something not well about Loyer?
Or did Mitchell good job for Nets?
I really wonder about that.
1 - D. Williams / J. Farmar / S. Gaines / B. Uzoh
2 - A. Morrow / S. Graham / M. Brooks
3 - T. Outlaw / D.James
4 - K. Humpries / D. Gadzuric / B. Wright / J. Williams
5 - B. Lopez / J. Petro
i would love deng he is everything this team
Needs at the 3 position although I don’t believe he’s attainable with our offers I’m sure bulls can clear space and obtain a valuble player with other teams
But I do like morrow a lot I would love to see us trade one of our sf

I dont wanna trade Morrow either if I'm the Nets
arguably the best 3 point shooter in the league..there are enough good SFs on the market who can replace Outlaw and James at starting SF that would be cheaper than Deng who is a borderline all star. but we should keep Morrow
Everybody pay for a good meeting tomorrow, I want basketball back!

I have always like SamMitch
He is a tough coach that isnt star struck like the other coach we had. I hope he stays and we get PJ.
As for the Deng rumors, only way I would take deng is if CHI takes outlaw.
How about Farmar for Brewer or Korver straight up? That should make Dwill semi happy.
