Mitchell Still Waiting on Wolves
David Kahn, the Timberwolves GM, apparently has Sam Mitchell on his short list for head coach...but would like to expand the list to include Rick Adelman, late of the Rockets. Adelman had initially indicated he wanted to take this year off but Kahn wants him to come to Minnesota for a chat and he may very well.
Kahn is looking for a coach who can mold his young, athletic assets into a run-and-gun operation, and with Ricky Rubio, Michael Beasley and Kevin Love, he has some attractive pieces. His boss, Glen Taylor, likes Mitchell for his record of working with young teams and his history --10 seasons-- with the Wolves as a player.
If Mitchell doesn't get the job in Minnesota, he is likely to return to the Nets as Avery Johnson's lead assistant. The team has another vacancy with the departure of Larry Krystkowiak for the University of Utah.

a lot of coaches
think they can deal with him, bring out his potential. actually, Mitchell might be best for him out of that group.
And Rubio can make him a lot better than their other PG’s, incluidng Jonny Flynn who is a shoot first PG in a European guard’s body.
i'm really not convinced on Rubio
i mean, what the hell has he done to prove himself other than being extremely underwhelming in the Euroleagues? I hope I’m wrong and he ends up being Nash’s heir-apparent, but my enthusiasm is curbed right now.

Brian Shaw
Brian Shaw would be a great assistant and if for some reason Avery flames out Adelman would be the best choice to replace him.
