DWill's NEW Team

The reports are now coming in from multiple sources that Deron Williams will be playing for the Turkish team Besiktas, the team Allen Iverson played for.

He has an opt out clause once the lock-out ends, so this contract will not interfere with any NBA activities, whenever they are resumed.

I personally think this is a good sign that he is the first big name to sign abroad during the lock-out. This means he is very serious about getting his wrist and game back to the level it was at when he was the best PG in the NBA.

We all know we must upgrade our roster in order to keep him, but his play (when healthy) is going to make our current assets much better as well.

If he is playing full speed after an offseason and training camp (I still believe this lock out wont cause the NBA to miss much) our overall team play is going to get much better.

So overall I think this is a great move for him and think it will help the Nets take a step forward this season.

Thoughts?

if there is an honest opt out for the return of the NBA

then i don’t see why anyone would see him getting play time as a bad thing.

The only outlet

that’s reporting it is a Turkish TV station. Everyone else is just linking to the original report.

We’ll believe it (and post it) if a more legit outlet reports it.

I am a Chelsea Fan

On Sunday, there was a report saying that Javier Pastore ( Argentinian Star ) was going to sign with us today. it didnt happen.

The only good thing about a report like this,

is that multiple exploratory or rumored signings with overseas teams may help bring or pressure the owners to the negotiation table and speed up an agreement of the new CBA. Otherwise, I’d rather not see DWill risk his health over in Turkey.
