Barclays Interior Designs Released
Barclays Center, now officially called "Barclays Center of Brooklyn" released the latest designs for the arena's interior, including updated images of the Main Concourse and VIP Entrance as well as a first look at the arena's beer garden, to be known as "Beers of the World."
"SHoP wanted the design of the interiors of the Barclays Center to be focused on bringing the energy of Brooklyn street life into the arena," said Gregg Pasquarelli, Principal of SHoP Architects PC. "The design uses a simple yet tactile palette of industrial materials to create an urbane experience open to all."
The Main Entrance, known as the Arena Atrium, will feature views of the arena and Nets' practice facility, as well as access to the Box Office and Team Store, all across a "smooth terrazzo floor". In addition, the architects released designs for the plaza outside the Main Entrance as well as the Event Level Suite and Suite Level Bar.
Meanwhile, the two reigning heavyweight boxing champions, Ukrainian brothers Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko said they were excited about the possibility of bouts at Barclays in front a big Russian crowd. "Let's do it," said Wladimir.

My god.
I can see why this thing is costing a billion dollars.
And one thing I notice, none of people they put in the images are wearing Nets gear. Im guessing thats a hint that they wont release the new look jerseys anytime soon, as they will probably be totally different than what they are now.

get rid of the Navy, gray and silver.

much better than a lot of arenas’ concourses

if you look at the arena atrium view
you can see the arena bowl is at an angle which would coincide with this view.
also
look to the left hand side of the image and you will see “practice court”. that’s one of several views fans will have of the practice court…including from Atlantic Avenue and from the VIP Entrance.

Anyone get the new Slam issue?
New article about D-Will and the Nets. Really worth the read. I can’t find it online, but this is my favorite part:
Hop back in that imaginary time machine of paragraphs ago and flash forward to January 2013: Russian Night of the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn. A small percentage of those millions are at the game, the 15th consecutive sellout since the building opened. Basketball has never been bigger in New York; even the asphalt thinks it’s 1994. The Knicks are the foil on this night, and it feels like the entire city is invested in the new rivalry. And why wouldn’t it be that way?
Carmelo and Amar’e are still doing their thing (albeit with more help), dominating the World’s Most Famous Arena and the tabloids alike. But with Williams and his new pick-and-roll partner, Dwight Howard, slicing up opposing defenses, the Atlantic Avenue Assist Man and his teammates are the talk of the league.
Prokhorov is in his luxury box, enjoying the view. The first row is peppered with celebrities: Spike Lee, a conflicted Larry David, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Kim Humphries Kardashian, the cast of MTV’s new hit, The Coney Island Shore (produced by Stephon Marbury) and many, many more. The game ends. Nobody has won anything yet. I walk into the visitor’s locker room. Somebody asks Carmelo is he could imagine playing in Brooklyn. "Yeah, this could’ve been me, " he says, with just enough of a grin to keep the back pages focused on the city’s first team….
Read the rest in Slam 151, and this excerpt is from Hello Brooklyn by Jake Appleman.

48 points on 32 shots is pretty good.
Figure he shoots 50% from the field, that’s 16 shots.
So that’s 32 points.
Then say 4 of the makes were 3’s.

He'll improve with deron at his side
Dont forget he played the 2nd half and OT with painful cramps, im convinced he’ll get better once he gets up to full match fitness by playing more of these kind of games while the lockout is still on. Like what i seen so far, this kid can be something special if used well by Avery. Go NETS!
I was at the game have some video for you guys have to go through it
But forget the shooting percentage, he was hurt for most of the end of the game with a leg injury and was cold in the beginning hasn’t played in a while.
#1.He looks like Kobe on the floor honestly the mannerism and everything.
#2.My god the kid has SWAG he had the crowd buzzing a bunch of times, especially when he made 4 threes in a row.
#3. His arms are ridiculously long one thing to read the numbers, and another to see him in person.
#4. He was mostly going at Jamario Moon all night, but you can tell he is going to be a big time scorer with his crossover and ability to stop and go on a dime, his length bothered players all night. There was one time where he crossed this dude up and dunked it with ease while he was hurt he jumps so easily.
I will post more and go through some videos I have later

John Lucas III scored 28 points in that meaningless game in whih most players weren’t even professionals (and the few professional players who took part in the game were pretty mediocre), let’s sign him he must be a stud!
I'll say dwight
Sign prince & hump to reasonable contract prob 5-6m region each. Then leave the extra 6-8m in cap that we should have for the 2012 FA or trades leading to deadline, gives us greater flexibility to do a deal for dwight in that case should ORL decide to trade him without having to include many players besides brook.
Yea I know. We should resign kris humphries. But I like how nene scores better. Thank you for welcoming me

i would rather start the season with
D-Will
Thornton
Prince

Than
D-Will

James
Nene
Lopez
okay…..so hump and Nene is the difference between Nene and Pachulia?
What?
Nene and Hump is like the difference between Tyson Chandler and Pachulia.
So in essence, yes.
And you’re not getting Hump, Prince and Thornton for 16 million in cap, it’s just not happening.
Plus, I’ll take Nene and a guy like Prince over that.
A deal for Nene is going to start around 12 a year, that leaves 4 and a half left…
by vincecarter4pres on Jul 20, 2011 1:08 AM EDT up reply actions
Yes but he's still got a caphold of $6.4 mill, leaving about 9 and a half left.
Thornton will cost at least 7 a year starting and you’re fooling yourself if you don’t think we’ll be sending legitimate assets to Sacto in a S&T at that type of price.
It’ll take 5 years and $50 mill minimum to force Sacto not to match…
by vincecarter4pres on Jul 20, 2011 1:11 AM EDT up reply actions
if we go over the cap signing other players
we can still re-sign hump because we have his bird rights
Yes, but Hump still has a caphold that cuts into the cap.
It’s 6.4 million.
Just to free up that cap space his Bird Rights need to be renounced.
So if you keep his Bird Rights we really only have about $9.5 mill in cap space to play with.
You cannot spend the 16 and then resign Hump.
by vincecarter4pres on Jul 20, 2011 1:15 AM EDT up reply actions
I think we could still have a chance at Dwight if we sign Hump for about 6 or 7mil per
Near the trade deadline look for a team that needs a backup pg and package Farmar, Petro, future 2nd rd pick and 3 mil for a cheap expiring. Plus maybe Dwight and Dwill agree to take a little less to join up. They would probably look worse if they didn’t, considering the Heat trio sacrificed a few million each.
It's not happening, you sign Hump, that's it, FA game is over, it's trade only.
Even if you dump Petro and Farmar, Brook is eating about 9.3 in caphold.

Meh
The rendering that is shown is no different from just about every other arena that was built recently. I don’t see what makes this one any different. Maybe it could be that this was one was funded by taxpayers of the state, while the rest were built privately. The VIP entrance is no surprise either, because it does show how much so many sports facilities have become a seperation of the regulars from those that are special. Believe it or not, having more luxury suites actually raises the ticket prices for everyone else, not lowers them. Why do the elite need their special boxes when going to the games? Aren’t the first couple of rows that they can afford on their own income enough? Why do we need another playground for the rich anyway when it’s really for them and not us? Most of the new places built are always as if they are made for those on the high end of the ladder, but not for the rest. As usual, the rest get snubbed, while only the rich matter. Part of the reason why everyone else doesn’t go to much games is because of the high ticket prices. That’s not the only thing that goes up, so does the price of concession and other merchandise. One good thing is that I am not one of those many fans who are not duped by those and thinking that we are satified as long as we have our beer, chips, and high definition TV to not notice this.
Childish responses as usual
What else can I expect from a person who is as ignorant and what much of the media has been saying? According to Jeff Foxworthy, “You’re probably not smarter than a 5th grader.” Seriously, that image really does lower your level of inteligence. Either way, if I am so not worth your time, then why give me the time of day? My guess is that you had nothing better to do with your time. I still find that image to be childish in my opinion. On a side note, I read what you posted on the Brooklyn Paper, and that was very innapropiate of you especially when you had the right to express your view, while trying to silence others.

Hey nets 14
Wasn’t that a personal attack on you from the man who accuses everyone else of attacking him?
Call Dr Freud!
You guys really do need to keep your egos to yourselves sometimes and even start learning how to take a chill pill. Just because I disagree with you on this, does not give you the reason to make such attacks. Also, I have never stopped anyone from liking what they wanted, so quit doing that to me. Why can’t you discuss this like a mature person rather than act so childish and even try to use such images to avoid the actual debate? It’s one thing to say that you disagree with me, but it’s another thing to make a personal attack. For the record, I have nothing against those who disagree with me, and there a lot of those who disagree with me all the time, but I do have something against those who have made personal attacks at me, which is what you are doing right now. If I want to think that this arena is overrated, that’s my opinion, and I am entitled to it whether you like it or not. If I have to listen to what you had to say, then you have to equally listen to what I have to say. I have been very respectfull and courteous to you guys when you said your views, so I expect the same in return from you.
