Jay-Z In For D-Will on Billboards

There's probably no stranger or larger-scale lockout imagery removal than the Nets sending Deron Williams down the Memory Hole on seven billboards and bus stops in Brooklyn and replacing him with cultural or global icon (that's how the Nets officially refer to him) Jay-Z. The switch took place just before the lockout.

At the time, the Nets said the switch meant nothing, but there's little doubt now, after watching the NBA scrub its sites of players' imagery, that team billboards had to meet those same standards.  Mike BTB of Brooklyn Trolley Bloggers shows off the big example near Barclays Center.
