The Team that Almost Was
I remember it clearly, it was May 2010, NBA Draft Lottery. It appeared as John Wall could be the guy that would lure a LeBron or a Wade or a Boozer or anytop Free Agent to NJ/BKLYN. Then my heart sank as the Nets were told they would recieve pick 3. Favors is OK, but not the star potential of a Wall. BUT Imagine if we landed the first pick.
PG. John Wall
SG. MarShon Brooks
SF. Caron Butler (who knows, maybe we dealt Harris to Dallas and re-signed Butler)
PF. Kris Humphries (lets say we finish with a similar record and land 3rd pick again, BACKUP: Enes Kanter)
C. Brook
That's a decent team but I'm not seeing "Playoffs" if there would be a season this year.
Or we have this team (if theres a season)
PG. Deron Williams
SG. Brooks (lets say he beats out Morrow)
SF. Damion James
PF. Hump (Re-signed)
C. Brook
The former probably goes like 30-52, the latter maybe 44-38 but it all depends if D-Will resigns, if he does then maybe it was a good thing we lost out on the number 1 pick.

We probably would've had Granger if we had the #1 pick.
Granger , Lopez , Wall trio to build around with some cap-space at the time.

i'll take Deron/Dwight over that trio

But last time I checked, we don’t have Deron and Dwight.

2005 Draft
We should’ve had Granger already. Antoine Wright who????
He was supposed to be the next Dwyane Wade
Mikhail Prokhorov: Championship in 5 years

A goal is not always meant to be reached, it often serves simply as something to aim at.
