Stephen Graham for all his statistical issues has a reputation of being a good teammate, someone who kept his fellow Nets loose, developed relationships with everyone. He treasures those relationships for a good long while too.
Although he still spends his off-seasons in Florida, Graham traveled to Fort Worth this week to help out a friend from Oklahoma State. Charles Hickman, now varsity coach at Fort Worth Polytechnic, was having a hard time getting kids to sign up for a community basketball camp and recruited Graham. The presence of an NBA player changed everything.
"I remember being in these kids' same shoes back when I was younger," said Graham. "Having NBA players coming up to me and saying something, because it meant the world to me, so it inspired me to start working with kids."
