I believe in second chances. Travis Outlaw deserves a second chance. A second chance to redeem himself and to be the player that he knows he is and the player that we all think he can become. Coming into last season I thought wow maybe Avery could transform Outlaw just like he did to Josh Howard. I was expecting a sold 15-18 ppg and 5 rpg from Outlaw. Well it didn't happen. Now, us nets fans are too hard on the guy. I went to a handful of games this season and all I hear when Outlaw makes a shot is "mvp" "mvp" "mvp". That's putting to much pressure on the guy. We don't scream mvp when Devin Harris had awful games for the nets. (they were plenty) And then the "Outlol" started coming up. Like really, we have to stop.
Now he has a lot of contract left. he has 4 years 28mil. We can't make him a bench scorer with all that money. We need to give him a second chance. Imagine the lineup
Pg. Deron Williams
sg. Marcus Thorton (i'm confident we'll sign him)
sf. Travis Outlaw
pf. David west or Hump
C Dwight Howard or Lopez
Travis Outlaw is known as a scorer. He can put the ball in the basket. With people like Deron complimenting him, telling him where to go, and dishing it to him. He's bound to up his scoring average by at least 4 points. Who's with me?
