Chandler and Scola
From what i observed from the draft, i think we could get a shot at signing wilson chandler and trade for luis scola. With the mavs selecting Jordan Hamilton and then traded him to the nuggets in a 3-team trade, the nuggets now have 3 players, that are quality starters, who can play the 3 in Danillo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler (though he's a Restricted free agent), and now Hamilton. I'm guessing that they acquired Hamilton because they knew that teams likes chandler would offer him a lot of money, and they know that they wouldn't be able to match. Therefore the Nets' biggest competition for chandler are teams that have more than $15M in cap space. But those teams are usually the ones that are either rebuilding, or far-out of contention in the play-offs. The Net's biggest asset is that we have one of the best PG in the world. And as far as i can recall chandler hasn't had that opportunity. So playing with Deron would probably entice him to sign with us.
Next up is Luis Scola, Houston drafted Marcus Morris and then traded for Donatas Montiejunas. For me, it seems like they're gearing up to rebuild and scola would probably be not part of their plans. They have a young core of Lowry, Martin, Budinger, Morris, Montiejunas, Pattrick Patterson, Dragic, Chuck Hayes, Jordan Hill and Terrence williams. From that list, only Martin and Hayes are 28 years old and above. Scola is now 31 years old and may have only 2-4 years left of prime in him, but he is a great scorer and very decent rebounder. He could start at the 4 or be the first big man off the bench to replace either Brook or Hump (assuming we resign him).
The red light is that he has 4 years and around $39M left in his current contract, with his final year non-guaranteed. If we would try to acquire him the best assest we would trade is Outlaw and probably graham (to be a filler) plus a draft pick. Outlaw is due $7M next season while Scola is owed about $7.8M. If you're wondering why would they want outlaw and graham for scola, while the rockets have logjams in some positions, they lack a SF. That's where he comes in, outlaw's problem with the Nets is that he wasn't used to being the 3rd or sometimes the 2nd option on offense. But with houston, he would be comfortable playing the 4th option.
Assuming we do acquire these players, the Nets' line-up would be:
PG-Deron Williams/Jordan Farmar/Sundiata Gaines
SG-Anthony Morrow/Marshon Brooks
SF-Wilson Chandler/Damion James
PF-Luis Scola OR Kris Humphries/Jordan Williams
C-Brook Lopez/Johan Petro (and sometimes Luis Scola or Jordan Williams)
Counting the roster, they would have 12 players, so signing unrestricted F.A. like Kirilenko and probably a wing defender like Deshawn stevenson or give brooks a year to adjust and sign J.R. smith. With that said, the roster would be:
PG-Deron Williams/Jordan Farmar/Sundiata Gaines
SG-J.R. Smith/Anthony Morrow/Marshon Brooks
SF-Wilson Chandler/Andrei Kirilenko/Damion James
PF-Luis Scola OR Kris Humphries/Jordan Williams (and sometimes Kirilenko)
C-Brook Lopez/Johan Petro (and sometimes Luis Scola or Jordan Williams)
After one season we could use those assets to trade for Dwight. We could give up Brook, Scola and Morrow. Or Chandler, Brook, Brooks and Morrow. Plus picks of course.

I see the logic in your Scola deal
But the Rockets can get much more value for him than Travis Outlaw and Stephen Graham.
Scola is coming off knee surgery and is still owed 40 mil and is 31
NO THANKS

Yeah but...
as i mentioned, the last year of his contract is NON-GUARANTEED. Meaning he’s only owed 27 mil. for the next 3 years. And thank you for the part about his surgery, i forgot about that.

I forgot to mention
that rockets would save more money cause outlaw’s contract is a little cheaper.
Outlaws conract is A LOT CHEAPER
Outlaw has 4yrs. 28 mil left scola has 4 yrs. 39mil.
It wouldn't surprise me if Houston drafted M.Morris as a 3
He’s pretty small for the 4 , and has a solid perimeter game.
"This isn’t fantasy or rotisserie basketball. Why would Denver want Outlaw? Would you?"
He's a tweener
at least that’s what most scouts and analysts are saying.

I know that i kept on saying about scola's final year isn't guaranteed.
But it doesn’t mean that im really pushing for this trade. I’m just stating facts :)
agreed
and brook is a C not a PF.
