Lee, Leuer Headline First Workout
Jon Leuer the 6'11" PF out of Wisconsin, and Malcolm Lee, the 6'5" combo guard out of UCLA, will be the featured prospects Thursday when the Nets start individual workouts at PNY Center. In addition, Willie Reed of St. Louis, Jamie Skeen of VCU and Vernon Macklin of Florida, all 6'9" PF's; and 6'7" Pepperdine swingman Mychel Thompson fill out the list. Thompson is the son of former NBA player Mychal Thompson and brother of Washington State's Klay Thompson.
Both Leuer and Lee have been penciled in the Nets box on several mock drafts, Leuer at #27 and Lee at #36. The names were first tweeted by Mike Mazzeo. Billy King is expected to meet with the media after the workouts.

I'd really like both guys and hope this is how it plays out, + a trade for another pick to acquire Brooks/Singleton/Morris/Faried/Burks
Any of those would be more than enough.
Malcolm lee could very easily be a player like courtney lee or aaron afflalo
Slighlty undersized shooting guards with great defensive ability. Lee has an inferior jump shot though, but he’s seemingly worked on it
if you can get the next courtney lee or aaron afflalo at 27 or 36, you’ve had a very good draft
by muwu on May 31, 2011 5:20 PM EDT via mobile reply actions
Malcolm’s jumper isn’t as good as Courtney or Afflalo, but he makes up for that by having better point guard skills than them two. Still has room to improve on that jumper though. He’s been marked down as my guy at 36 for a while, though I wouldn’t have an issue taking him at 27.

Well they have made it obvious what positions they are looking for.
Backup pf and a sg swingman.
If someone drops they will go bpa.
There is no dropping in this draft
Outside of the top 15, pretty much everyone is at the same level

Get Leur sign Nene
1. D-Will
2. Rip/Morrow
3. Ak./James
4. Nene/Leur
5. Pez

no Humphries??
idk why anyone would let a guy walk who is young, had a career year, was our most consistant player and compliments Lopez so well. pass on Nene but Kirilenko and Rip would be nice tho
contract year, limited offensive skills, not a good 1 on 1 defender, no jumper
nice guy though love em
NeNe is tough, defends well, and can score consistently
by DJ HeavyDuty on May 31, 2011 5:54 PM EDT up reply actions
Nene is tough but Humphries is tough as well
at least keep him as a backup for both big man spots..where’s the loyalty?? I mean I dont think its overboard like keeping Outlaw or anything but Humphries was also a fan favorite too
I like Willie Reed out of St. Louis
I think he’d be like a Wilcox kind of guy who can get some minutes off the bench behind Humphries. Leuer is alright too. Lee might be a steal but there are several veteran FA wingmen available this year that we need to get if we wanna keep DWill happy. draft a big, sign some wings and trade Outlaw
I believe the Nets will draft someone other than any name we've heard so far

Skeen's is def someone to look @ in stashin on this squad
late pick or free agency wise

Suddenly, a lot of the names being mentioned lately make a lot more sense. I don’t want to spend a draft pick on a guy like Goudelock, but I’d love to try to develop him in Springfield

It’s unfortuate as fans people esp in the metro area people want it done yesterday. Remeber people “Rome Was Not Built In One Day.”

My Starting lineup next year:
PG – Deron Williams / Jordan Farmar / Sundiata Gaines
SG – Anthony Morrow / Mike Dunleavy / Mario West
SF – Thaddeus Young / Damion James / Travis Outlaw
PF – Kris Humphries / Brandan Wright / Jon Leuer
C – Brook Lopez / Joel Pryzbilla / Johan Petro
And if not Dunleavy then either Grant Hill or Marcus Thorton but Dwill wants Vets.

Nets are going to offer a big contract to Young according to Net Income
by The Big Russian on May 31, 2011 6:25 PM EDT up reply actions
It's not a matter of what he said
It’s a matter of what King and Avery said, which leads you to believe that Thaddeus Young will be a Net. I believe one of either Charlier or Razumouz (spelled that wrong) said that the Nets are going to utilize front-loading this offseason to sign a player also
by JerseysFinest. on May 31, 2011 8:15 PM EDT up reply actions
exactly
how many times did Avery Johnson praise Young at the end of the season?
by my count, three times.
you think that was for fun? It was a message.
Hope so. Like him best out of all the SF prospects mentioned so far.
2010-2011 = acquire an All-Star via cap space as Thorn himself said
2011-2012 = make the playoffs without hindering future flexibility
2012 off-season = sign the second All-Star
2012-2013 = make a run for the championship
Mission accomplished thus far.
Do you think Young or Jeff Green is a more likely signing?
I know they have both been mentioned as targets.
Thad Young isn’t going to help us?

although i like thad young
im not sure he’s exactly what we’re looking for….he doesnt strike me as the type of player who can get his own shot or has a consistent jumpshot….yes he’s long and athletic but im not sure if he fits the mold of what we want or dwill is looking for

I really think that people are not looking deep enough into Young
REMINDER:
ONLY 22 YEARS OLD
AVERAGED 15 POINTS, 5 REBS, 1 THREE, 1 STL AND 1 BLOCK AS A 20 YEAR OLD WHILE SHOOTING 50%
GREAT WING DEFENDER (something the Nets have lacked)
MINUTES HAVE DECLINED SINCE HIS 15 PPG YEAR FROM 34 TO 26, SUBSEQUENTLY SO HAVE HIS NUMBERS
PLAYS BEHIND ANDRE IGUODALA
IF we can get him a the right price and not overpay, he would be a great signing for NOW and for the future. I would not think that if we throw $7 million at him, Philly is going to match for one of their bench players, with the SF spot already filled on their team. AGAIN I would love to sign him but nothing over $7 – 8 million.

I'd rather JR Smith and Kirilenko but Young is damn good too
and he’s younger. wouldnt be mad with any of them. not too sure about Prince tho. I’d rather CJ Miles over Prince honestly
I dont think Nets will be winning a title next year anyway
its about adding vets, becoming a playoff team and going after Howard in 2012 I believe..I could be wrong but thats what I’ve been hearing/reading
Thad Young >>>> AK47 (who I think fans glommed onto simply because of his ethnicity smh)

Jazz may not exercise option on C.J. Miles
according to twitter by Salt Lake beat reporter. Depends on what the Jazz get in the draft.
dont know if you guys recall, but after the trade, Miles said he and D-Will joked about them playing together in New Jersey.
Id like him or AK47

DWill, Kirilenko, CJ Miles, and Gaines. Bulls got Boozer, Brewer and Korver and had the best record in the league..I wouldnt look too much into that lol

Just got my final year college reuslts
Awesome got my 2nd class honors. Was very worried I’d fail a subject and with my universities horrible repeat policies that would have meant a repeat in december and lost of needless fees to attend college for one subject for a semester. Also waste of six months to year. But I passed it and everything awesome.
