I was just reading an article on the new proposal by the owners to the players and read this:
Another key wrinkle from the rejected proposal, sources said, called for the ability for each team to shed one contract outright before next season through a one-time amnesty provision that wipes that contract off a team's books -- even though the player must still be paid -- reminiscent of a similar provision in the summer of 2005.
I raised this possibility early and it was pointed out to me that in the last cba this only took the contract off of the luxury tax but not the cap. Here it completely wipes the contract off the books. The owners seem to want it and since the players are still getting paid and then have the opportunity to sign with another team and make even more money I don't see why the players wouldn't agree to this clause. If it is in fact agreed to then NO MORE OUTLAW and soooo much more cap space!!!!!!!!!!! It's our only realistic shot at getting rid of this clown.
